    Game on second half

    Yes and no.

In most phases Italy are trucking along well. But there have been a few moments, when they've started to threaten near the 22, where Grand shave just put the hammer down and stopped them dead.

They have the subs to account for this, but I feel a lot of their forwards were running out of gas towards the end of that half.

That size and physicality can come at a price sometimes.

Think Italy could do with kicking to find grass more. France are a bit lax with covering back when the ball goes in behind them. Italian ruck speed is treacle slow too, making it far too easy for the French defense.

As a result Italy are very stationery when receiving the ball similar to how we were a few weeks ago.

France tackle very aggressively. If they aren't careful, they could see one of their guys in the bin yet, which might add a different shape to the game.

Wishful thinking on my part perhaps.

Quesada will be pulling his hair out at all these unforced errors

Garbisi's line kicks are quite poor.

Can’t see anything in the laws that if the ball goes over the 15 m it must be straight even if no contest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,090 ✭✭✭ironingbored

Garbisi has got to get more distance on those penalty touchfinders

Nice from the french lad catching the italian great sportsmanship

Not sure about that call for the scrum

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,462 ✭✭✭fitz

That's how they've been reffing it since the no-conteat change came in. Bizarre if there's nothing in the laws to support it…

Nice to see France pinged for one of those forward pop passes on the line. They get away with so many of them.

France allowed to seal off with impunity in their 22. Dupont is ridiculous with his strength.

had a quick look and couldn’t see but it’s probably buried there somewhere.

OMG how many simple errors can Italy make in 1 match?

I know I've said it before but I really wish the commentators wouldn't talk over the ref when the ref is speaking on his mic.

    Lineout not straight

    Rationale: remove unnecessary additional stoppage

18.23a Amend sanction if ball not thrown straight with no competition

18.23 The ball must: a. be thrown in straight along the mark of touch towards a lineout player; Sanction: If the non-throwing team does not lift a teammate to compete for the ball, then play shall continue. If the non-throwing team lift a teammate to compete for the ball, then they shall be offered the option of a lineout or scrum. If the lineout is chosen and the ball is again not thrown straight, a scrum is awarded to the team that originally threw in the ball.

nothing there about 15 m line

    Sealing off there again

If italy can get a score here it will be interesting

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,462 ✭✭✭fitz

Dropping ball coming off the back of a maul like that is one that the coaches will be fuming over.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 9,462 ✭✭✭fitz

Shoulder in the head for Fusco there.

Edit: Been waiting for a replay, but then remembered it's in France. Never gonna happen!

don't think France have been all that today. Take away the lucky bounces, and they haven't created much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,090 ✭✭✭ironingbored

Yeah, why is captain not asking to have a look?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,726 ✭✭✭swiwi_

According to Reddit if balls goes to first man in lineout or over 15 m has to be straight.

the whole Italian team needs to be running laps. they're going to be in wheelchairs after this match, the amount of times they've shot themselves in the feet so far.
