Olive Puller

Anyone know if an Olive Puller from the UK would work with 1/2 and 3/4 nuts? I'm guessing it would work on radiator valves as the nut would be for a 15mm pipe.

As I see places like ScrewFix sells these pullers but wondering would they actually work with our sizes.

Why do you need to get the olive off?

Damage to the olive itself preventing it from creating a waterproof seal. The one time I had to do it before I cut the olive very slowly as not to nick the pipe. For any future work I'd like to add it to my toolbox.

I've seen a few UK based plumbers using a olive cutter/puller but not sure if it would work here.

Any that ive come across here have been tightened so much (trying to stop a leak) that a new piece of pipe was needed. You'd often get by with a few wraps of ptfe or your favourite sealing paste.

i have used hacksaw blade to cut-in to olive at 45 angle, just deep enough to make a groove for chisel/flat-head screwdriver to slot in , then twist the tool blade to break the olive. you have to be careful not to cut into pipe
