found by accident a widget on my tablet that enables me to see the battery life of any device paired with it. Handy, never knew that it existed. Especially convenient for my bluetooth speaker which doesn’t have a digital display.. you need to go to it and press a button at the back to obtain a call out of the % remaining…

    Also… late goals, 😎

Found my clip on shades which I thought I'd lost (was just in the other car for 3 months🫠)

'No win, no trim' - has a haircut become a problem for Man Utd?

The wait goes on. He probably thought before last night's game that he'd be heading to the barbers today. As the song from The Full Monty Python goes, "You can leave your hair on".

We never had woodpeckers for centuries in this country despite them present in Britain..

Anyway ... they are here now ... a Great Spotted Woodpecker from the picture here.

    So, that makes me happy.

But it's kind of funny, obviously not if your are affected, that they are causing trouble with the ESB poles ...

And these guys were here before for a very long time, long before the ESB ..

"While often treated as a "new" species, woodpeckers were actually native to Ireland in prehistoric times (proven by Bronze Age bones found in Co. Clare). They became extinct in Ireland during the 17th and 18th centuries due to massive deforestation for timber and agriculture, leaving the island without a resident woodpecker population for roughly 300 years until their recent return. "

Google Gemini -.fast becoming my favourite search tool. It’s federated search style in the algorithm is top notch.

I often wondered can my musical tastes be narrowed down and summarised. Why I dislike one band or even song v another. I listed the bands I found bland, boring, annoying.

I got a detailed discussion of chord progression etc. I like certain styles and approaches. Thought my tastes were scattered. But are apparently are rigid and there are definite patterns, beyond the chord progressions.

After some back and forth it figured out - I like Storytelling non theatrical voices. Grit real vibe. Then the AI listed songs I “might like” one after another. It was great song, love that one. Bit amazed by how accurate it got. I kept the summary as a guide so now it will find “new” bands if the humour took me.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I passed the test first time of asking a few weeks back in January. It was the first proper “exam” I’ve done in many years, huge sense of achievement in getting it.

Provisional license for the artic arrived recently, hoping to do that test during the summer.

The local chain chipper dropped off their biannual discount booklets, and when I checked the letterbox, I noticed the troublemakers next door didn’t get one (even though they’re huge takeaway fans). It’s nice to see a little karmic payback for their behavior.

I’ve bought one of the LIDL Gillette Fusion Rip off sets. I generally avoid cheapo razors cause they really aren’t worth a sh*t.

I’ve been using said razor head for countless shaves and it’s still samurai sword sharp.

Convinced someone was breaking in last night, awoken by a loud violent crash after 5am….Up grabbed the pitching wedge, no signs of further movement, sound or light anywhere in the place, turned the light on in another room …. Lying on the floor is the cordless vacuum cleaner… id used it about 12 hours earlier and put it standing in the corner of the room as always, against an old bookcase….A complete mystery how it stays there for 12 hours but then at that hour ends up falling over….. that’s probably a TA in itself but the fact it wasn’t a burglar and I managed to get back to sleep fairly promptly….total TH.

The winter Olympics, I absolutely love it, some incredible sports in it that sadly don't really exists in Ireland but it's a great spectacle to watch.

I think Biathlon must be one of the coolest sports in the world, just looks so great on TV them skiing in and out of the forest and then taking shots in the shooting range.

If I ever became a billionaire I think I'd build a load of biathlon courses and sliding tracks, ice rinks so people could have an opportunity to try these sports in Ireland (accepting I'd have to come up with a way to create some snow aswell for the outdoor sports)

got out for a super long walk tonight just before the weather deteriorated again. Got the last newspaper in the shop too which was 👌… came around my corner towards home just as the rain came again. Couldn’t have timed it better.

out walking and bumped into a lad I used to have a pint with in a pub probably 10 years ago.

We’d lost contact as he was a friend of a friend and only a more occasional drinker..but a reminder of great times, fun times and a different life. He’d moved from working in retail to healthcare and was great to hear that as he has a super personality and a real people focused guy and really funny as fûck to boot.

dropped a pyrex dish with beef bolognese from the fridge onto the tiled kitchen floor, bout a 4.5 foot drop..

miraculously it landed plastic lid down, didn’t open, break or crack. Was looking forward to that dinner and there wasn’t much else aside from doing a fry or pasta ready meal. 5 minutes later fresh pasta with bolognese plated up….👌

I was on ta lastish week giving out about the cost of having my work trousers turned up(my dyspraxia makes measuring correctly and pinning a task as impossible as being 4 again.

While I was there I asked them if they could do anything with the string tie of my well loved rain jacket, they did a great job reusing the material they had already, had a look yes and I can see how they did it!

so this am was dedicated to fixing all my string hoods copying their technique. €€€€'s saved and jackets saved from the yellow bin!

    So th about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

planned going for a walk but stepped out and just got a sense that it might rain, waited at my front door, sending a couple of messages, connecting my headphones and queuing up a playlist then seeing it pîss down, happy as I would have been drowned as would have been about 4/5 minutes away from shelter.

Back inside, cooked up a nice pasta dish and feet up and Spotify….
