2 Edinburgh players in the 23 and neither starting. That is not good for them.

seemingly first time in a century theres been no Edinburgh starter.

I think Scotland are going to get hammered today. Confidence has to be low and facing this England team after Italy is not good for them.

Okay, maybe I got that wrong. 😁

That looked like a cracking atmosphere in Murrayfield

Scotland played very well but in parts as their scrum was a mess and physically they lost out in contact when England didn't keep losing the ball ....England atrociously poor performance. Headless, heartless and so many unforced errors. The Ford drop goal was spectacularIy poor on so many fronts and turned the game. If they had scored a try there it could have changed things, why after so few phases try a poor drop goal which was always going to be blocked, you actually have to be in the pocket.....Think at the end of this 6 nations the end result will be France are just so far ahead and the rest will just be beating each other. We may lose to England and beat Scotland or goodness knows what.

    More French = better atmosphere.

They just create a better matchday experience than we do.

Italy’s scrum did more damage to us than France did. I wonder if that might be a small vulnerability for France against Italy next week? The starting scrum is highly mobile but not heavy by recent French standards.

If France keep picking the 2nd rows they have then Italy will get at least parity at scrum if not dominance.

Ugh, got confused cause I was replying post the French game.

Indeed Calcutta Cup always a great atmosphere. Though I stand by my general point re the French!

Wonder how many scrums there have been in all the matches so far? I suspect France don't end up in as many scrums as other countries

France are obviously not prioritising the scrum. We can see from the Ireland V France game and subsequent games.

Wales were atrocious yesterday. It was heading for a record 6 nations defeat (England beat Italy 80 - 23 in 2022) but France took their foot off the gas. It sad to see Welsh rugby fall so far. With their tradition and history they are at a very low ebb.

    Wales +18.5, France -29.5.

I think Scotland beat Wales but I am not sure they will beat them by 19 points. It's hard to trust the Scots to hump a team away from home.

If the same Italy that played us turn up against France I don't think they lose by 30 points.

Opposition teams handsomely covered the handicap bet for the first 2 weeks against Wales (England -29 and France -34). Scotland are up and down but would fancy them to cover +18.5. Italy have played well but 3 weeks in a row could have France running in alot of tries. I'd go with France -29.5

id be very wary of scotland putting in a follow-up performance after beating england.

Imagine going into a game against Scotland 18 point underdogs at home though…

That Italian scrum could create some damage to the French. I suppose we will know more when the teams are announced

wouldn't be shocked by an Italian win. They've been unlucky to beat them the last couple of years, and there 23 compares very favourably.

That could be a red card

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,290 ✭✭✭Paddy_Mag

Scotland butchered a golden chance to score against 14 men and have now conceded.

    Scotland are the new France.

great response by Wales. whatever about their struggles, they have some pacey runners.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,290 ✭✭✭Paddy_Mag

Wales have been excellent so far.

You have to forget last week and remember the Italy match.

I didn't think Wales have been that bad, play some lovely running rugby. Dangerous when they go wide. Ireland will have to watch that.

Ireland's wide scramble/shepherding was great today so hopefully won't pose too much of an issue.

    England hammered Wales

If our forwards play as they did today, we will beat both of these sides.
