Hi, does anyone know why Rising Time on a Saturday morning is now moved to start and finish earlier. From 5:30am and now finishing at 7:30am and followed by Callans Kicks.

Now I like Oliver Callan but I don’t think my head is up for Callans Kicks at 7:30am on a Saturday- maybe it’s just me but I usually like the easy listening up to 8am.

as far as I can tell Lilian has a strong listenership and I am sure there must be others not happy with this.

As the saying goes, if it’s not broke don’t fix it.

Lilian plays great stuff, are there podcasts of the show or Spotify?

I’d imagine it’s because the Ireland v England rugby started at 2.10pm yesterday so they couldn’t run Callan Kicks as usual at 2pm

No, from what I can see it’s a new slot as its in the schedule going forward.

I either listen live or on playback, there is a mountain of programmes on the RTE website and the playback section on the app usually goes back a week.

Saturday Sports usually starts at 2.00. Looks like they are prioritising the podcast for Callan's Kicks. Disappointing for Lillian. A strange move all round.

Well at least the programme is still 2 hours long, starting at 05:30.

I was hoping to play it on Spotify in the car.

Not a great move if it's staying that way. I agree with you, easier listening is better at that hour of the morning. There's a full hour of talking with PBH from 8am.

Callan has 10 hours of airtime during the week. Could they not fit callans kicks somewhere into that!
