Tried calling 6667000 the number listed for the blanchardstown Garda station, just rings out no answer. At 2pm motorcycle wheelie on the M3 from blanchardstown hospital to the town center followed closely by a quad bike with uk plate.

Gardai often encourage calling 112/999 for this very reason. The control centre will prioritise calls and they can be fed directly to Garda cars, without relying on the local station. Obviously low priority calls will get pushed down the list.

You might get a quicker response from Blanch using a carrier pigeon. It's the other number, we've no car. Dog ate the keys.

    Sorry to be cynical.

It's not just Blanch. I rang the Guards in Navan and was told there was no car available and I then pointed out the issue was about 300 yards from the station. The line went dead.

I don't think it's everywhere. When I talk to colleagues they get a decent response in their areas of Dublin..

They have to deal with rumour mills and hysterical karens with active imaginations.

Like the local daft bat in my area who mixes up minor events with the john grisham novels shes been reading, and then goes on facebook calling for the gardai to be involved.

I seriously doubt they turn up for imaginary crimes and not for real ones.
