241 Ev6, 77 KWH. Approx 370 recently in cold snap, have actually done 505 one time on an indicated 530 range. No Miss Daisy driving really.

    22 Model 3 LR AWD

Used 52% driving Dublin to Letterkenny at 3 degrees. 236km. Mostly 110km/h roads up through omagh etc, so about 453km on those kind of roads. Climate set to auto at 21 degrees.

Uses 30% to get Dub-Courtown. 120km at 125-128km/h. Do that trip 2/3 times a month and it’s consistently the same. So 400km at motorway speeds or just above.

I could save some by driving slower but, meh!

edit to add. I don’t preheat. Never do. I just hop in and drive.

251 Tavascan E4, cold snap last week 380kms on mostly motorways at normal speeds and using heaters etc etc. But if I preheat and time the charge to complete just as I leave that goes up to 420kms.

I said 360 in a tavascan in early post on this thread on a cold day and maybe 450 summer so not that far away from you.

On a lovely hot day last summer I did 420kms and had 9% left getting home so thats where I got 450 from . A/C on cold amd driving at motorway limit nearly all that. Drove past loads of fast charging options and knew there were plenty more so just ploughed on.

Model y Juniper RWD LR 140km run to wexford in 5-6 degree temp mostly motorway i use 35% battery so max motorway range at lowish temps is 400km.

that would be raw dogging with no preheat! with preheat i reckon you could add 20/30km

A6 E tron 83kw battery during the summer around 550/580km now around 400km, My journeys to work 16km (Non motorway)and depending on the shift I'm working. Can take anything from 30mins upto 60 mins a lot of stop starting etc.

Today I drove to New Ross and back. Temps were 4-6°c and wet on return. Started with 97% and made it home with 70km left. So totaled out at 380km.

Last summer driving in Europe at 125km/h for 3 hrs car was showing 420-450, when I did my first stint at 110km/h for 90mins car was showing a steady return of 500kms for a full battery. Plenty of rapid chargers and no waiting so I was happy to bias speed/bladders over economy. Highly recommend European EV driving, in fact just EV driving.

    id4 77kW

Have since 1st of July 25 and 17kW/100km showing on dash.

Would get about 400km in warm weather. And getting around 300km in the cold.

A lot of motorway driving, and i often do slightly over the 120kph. Have of roofbars on about 50% of the time.

Motorway really affects the car. Can get 14 or 15kW/100km normally - drops to 22 or 23 at motorway speeds.

I actually find that a stiff headwind affects this car more than the weather.

Didn't even get 300km in December driving to Cork into a strong wind.

Tesla Model 3. 2022 RWD LFP battery.

About the worst I would expect from 50% of battery after charging to 100%. No motorways, mainly rural very wet and multiple short drives over last 4 days. No preheating needed.

    That's exceptional efficiency.

Is range holding up well vs new because the 23.8 kwh would suggest only 47.6 kwh battery.

Yet those LFP packs are 57 kwh usable when new.

(There's probably some buffer below zero)

There definitely is, I've had mine displaying -3% on the screen.

The Wh/km and kWh used is sort of meaningless when recording multiple trips. That figure shows sitting around in car, sentry etc, actually was probably 1 hour in car not driving when at NCT centre the other day. I find it accurate on an actual trip only. Tesla doesn't include consumption when not driving in average figures.

I have no reason to believe much if any deterioration in battery as yet, still takes over 30kWh to charge 50 -100%. (I know there are losses involved when charging). And range appears to be similar to when new.

Obviously after 4 years there is some battery loss, but it is not noticeable. As long as I can comfortably do home west Co Wexford to Dublin or Cork return, about 300 kms, I am happy..🙂

yeah, i don't have mine long enough to have a good feel of cold weather performance, but i think the worst i've seen yet is 18kWh/100km unless it's been stuck in really heavy traffic with the heater on.

    2022 kona.

It's also fictional efficiency, for some odd reason Tesla doesn't include for climate and electronics use. My experience with every other car has that use ranging from 10-30% depending on vehicle and conditions.

When I had my M3, I could never figure out why the figures on the screen would never match actual consumption.

2021 Volkswagen id4. 77 battery. yesterday. Drove from Galway to Dublin and back. Mainly motorway and a few km around Athlone at 100kph. Mainly stayed around 110pkh. And then M50 to Sandyford. Temp was about 8 degrees I think. Road was dry. Only 2 in car, no extra load.

Left Galway with 100%. Arrived in Sandyford with 43%. So 57% battery used on way up.

Topped up to 70% at Sandyford. Arrived home with 17%. So 53% battery used on way home.

Trip computer showed 407km in total and 19.4kwh per 100km.

now there was congestion on m50 on way home which meant driving at about 40pkh for 15 mins so that helped the overall efficiency figure I guess

2017 30kwh Leaf with 78%SoH or 10 bars on the dash, I get about 140km in Summer, but that would go below 5%, so don't do it very often and ~100km AT 0c I don't spare the heater when its cold but it has heated seats so doesn't need too much to keep you warm. Not too much motorway driving despite living next to the M4 its mostly rural roads so 80-90km/h top speed trips.

google maps says that's about 215km trip; which suggests a total range of about 380km.

    EV6 77KWh battery, summer 500km winter 430km.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,501 ✭✭✭Old diesel

It was doing the 158 kms on 50 percent I was impressed with tbh.

Ya, it's decent but nowhere near the claims on screen.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

Early days with a Smart #1 Pro+ 66KWh battery -but so far managed 340kms winter range- that’s with 17.2kw per 100km average consumption so I’d be hoping for a good 40-50kms more in Summer when it comes -WLTP is 420kms

Above was combined driving albeit when motorway driving, mostly around 100-110kph - but considering mostly in rain and relatively heavy traffic I wasn’t interested in doing much more than that

just took a 120km round trip to run an errand in kildare - 3C out, i had the heating set to 19C driver side only, and most of the journey was on the M50, M7 and a bit of the M9 so mainly spent at between 80km/h to 100km/h (conditions allowing).

the car came home claiming it averaged 15kWh/100km. 64kWh kona. happy with that, would suggest 400km+ on a full battery.

it's worth noting in the context of the thread, that lots of short trips - even at the same speed - would see lower range. the heater has to work harder in the first 5 or 10 mins say, to bring the cabin up to temp. so the consumption from the heater would be less per km on longer trips.

Yep I've data from 2 EVs to back up the difference between repeated short trips and long trips.

Tavascan has 17000kms on it in just over a year and does long drives regularly

Renault 5 has 3000kms on it in 6 months and does short spins only really.

In any given situation I have ever tried, the R5 beats the tavascan for efficiency when I have done same journey in both cars in same conditions/speed etc. I have never been able to reverse this in any conditions

Yet over their short lives, the tavascan actually has better average consumption because the R5 spends its entire driving time heating or cooling its cabin whereas the tavascan regularly gets driving time with cabin up to temp
