Some are definitely corporate returns. Though the phrase corporate returns is just what everyone uses for these types of tickets that are held back for corporates, sponsors, occasionally friends and family (they rarely get returned) etc

Picked up one ticket for NZ match a few years ago and was bang in the middle of some corporate event. Ended up going to their function after as well

Agree with above. There are also the occasional return from the away union that hadn’t been allocated. They come in dribs and drabs.

Yep, that's it exactly. It's primarily corporate returns (the unsold 'packages' that are at extortionate costs) but there's also away allocations and the odd IRFU return. I've generally been able to get tickets to in the run-up to a game off Ticketmaster - admittedly it takes a bit of work but primarily sheer good luck at being in the right place at the right time.

Yep, I got a ticket off Ticketmaster 2 days before the England match last year. There will be tickets available, but requires some refreshing

I've a pair of Category 3 tickets seated together for France-Ireland available as a family situation has stopped me from being able to attend. They were 110 Euro each but I'll sell them for 180 Euro total if there's any Irish supporters interested. DM me if so.

Got that email too. Wonder how they still have tickets left. Saw here were a few 120e tickets on the TM site too. Not sure whee those tickets are coming back from tbh.

TM have released hundreds of tickets each morning this week.

Leinster season ticket holders got an email about tickets being available via a lottery today too.

Ticket pricing is from €108-€180 though which seems way too steep.

yeah saw that and said no thanks. Crap seats were on Ticketmaster last week for stupid prices too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,435 ✭✭✭crisco10

the lottery was really unattractive for an Italian match. You guaranteed to get an over priced ticket.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 227 ✭✭IHateNewShoes

Is there any other type apart from an over priced one nowadays?? 🙈

A few tickets on Ticketmaster now too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,435 ✭✭✭crisco10

I thought that as I typed it ! I more meant you are guaranteed to get the worst seats in a given price range. e.g. the "West Stand" seats that are basically in the corner of the South Stand. but priced the same as a touchline seat on the halfway line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 227 ✭✭IHateNewShoes

    Yeah you're right.

Personally, as someone from far away from Dublin, I think my days of home six nations games are done. Too expensive, and an away game just makes more sense now,n

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,435 ✭✭✭crisco10

Yup, I just looked, and i have gone to a home 6 Nations game 8 of the last 10 years. (so apart from COVID year I have only missed 1 year!) this will be a rare non-attendance year for me I suspect.

Rather I am now going to a Women's 6 Nations match ( v Scotland in May), family of four for €60. Granted a different scale of rugby, but the value for money is significantly better.

Good few tickets up for the Wales game now, sneaky feckers putting them up during the match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,647 ✭✭✭✭Eod100

Loads of them alright! Don't think I've ever seen so many on general sale. Wonder were they held back so people would buy tickets for the Italy match or what?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,694 ✭✭✭finbarrk

Still looking for one for Twickenham.

Cheers KB, spicey! Trying to decide if any pop up will I take the punt or not! at those prices just find it hard to justify.
