So our dishwasher finally stopped working after 12 solid years of cleaning. Just wondering what is the best dishwasher on the market now, our budget can stretch to €800.

You will probably get different answers ending on folks' personal preferences and experiences. I've been happy with Bosch but Electrolux would be a good alternative.
If possible, get a free standing one. It will be cheaper to buy and easier when it needs repairing. He says, having got a built in one!

Siemens, Bosch can’t really go wrong, if you go built in get one the projects the remaining time onto the floor.

Bosch lasted me years without any trouble and I don't go easy on it no pre washing or scrubbing just toss anything and everything in.

I have a pretty reliable Bosch built in for 9 years or so but the time projection has been blurred/unreadable the last 4, uneconomical to repair.

Mine is also a BOSCH was suppose to be built in but never got finished . feet are on those glider things for getting it in and out when needed.

My washes are usually over 2 hrs long and some others do it quicker.

When I replaced mine I looked for fast express programme, a cutlery drawer (though kept the basket from my old one) and physical buttons (some have touch panels). We ended up with a Bosch. There wasn't a lot between them.

Thanks all. Yeah I’m actually looking for a free standing dishwasher. Bosch dishwashers are renowned for their reliability however the only Bosch free standing dishwasher I can find in the shops is the stainless steel version which doesn’t look great. The missus has her eyes set on a black dishwasher which Bosch don’t seem to provide. We are looking at some really nice black machines from Siemens and LG but that are circa €900.

if you want to save some money and get top of the range there’s a chap with a great reputation on adverts who’s worth calling, I can look up this number have it in my phone somewhere, also a store on Camden street in dublin called gas electric, worth calling them to see have they what you’re after.

I had to replace a 12yr old Siemens iq700 combi microwave and then the iq700 oven packed in after Xmas day, picked up a pair of new Siemens studio line iq700 for €1600, the rrp on the pair is close to €7000. Boxes was damaged, ovens were perfect with full new warranty.

Our dish washer has recently packed up, just replaced it with a new Bosch. But now it wants to know what the level of hardness of our water is. We live in Dublin S-W, and get our water from Wicklow. I've read that Wicklow water is generally soft, but the maps I've come across all show the water in the Dublin area to be very hard. We haven't really had any experiences with limescale in kettles, iron, etc. Does anyone know?
