I would love it if it was delayed by 24 hours anyway, the whole Thursday night kick off is horse shite.

Ireland Vs France on Thursday, Ireland XV on Friday, two more 6n games on Saturday and a full slate of AIL. There might be something to this Thursday ko stuff.

I would also love if hundreds of Irish fans who paid a small fortune and took time off work got screwed and didn't get to see the game.

Doesn't feel like a six nations day, a rainy Thursday. But 3 matches on a Saturday is too much though. I'll be watching some of the 2 games Saturday but if they go one sided not all of them. Man utd spurs at lunchtime Saturday too and cork tipp in the hurling at 7 30 so plenty choice!!

Wonder is there much Irish support gone over?

Well, I was just stating what I would like. For the fans sake I hope it goes ahead though!

I don't get the hate for it personally. Looking forward to a Thursday game. Most of my office are heading to the pub next door after work and watching together. Granted there is a lot less in today due to the weather than originally planned. I dislike Sunday games far more than a Thursday/Friday game myself.

Crowley is better than Utility, he is a top class international 10…

Prendergast is a generational talent if he could tackle better than his grandmother… He is getting better but team know to target him on that weakness.. His kicking and descisions and skill on the line is very good. International teams have guys trying to figure him out for over a year now and they are still trying to crack the da vinchi code

Harry is better than his brother, actually way better but really untested. Even this season, he has had 6 starts for Leinster, Sharks (Home), Zebra (Home) & Dragons (Away) are all second string teams.

It would have been better if it was Saturday Night game.

It could have been played 7:10pm our time quite comfortably.

Winter Olympics has only Womens Ski Jumping and Swiss v Canada Womens Ice Hockey to compete.

No Premiership and Nantes v Lyon in french league(attendence last time was 32,000 (not a sell out).

No Boxing title fight at that time.

Phoenix Open in Golf but coverage doesn't start until 8:30pm

No Rugby being played in France or Ireland at the time or even UK.

So they should have gone to own the night for Rugby, it would have huge tv audience.

We talk about expanding the game, why not give us prime spot.

RTE and Virgin it turns out have also being offering their allowance of 2 in game adverts to potential clients. Thankfully none have been sold as of yet.

We need a clear out like Gatland pulled back in 2000. So much old, dead weight in the team

Ireland simply haven't got to grips with the shift in the "meta" to aerial contests. We're playing that game too, but we haven't got the fielders to regather the ball. And we haven't the defensive fielders to cover the France attacking kicks.

We've seen that we still have the ability to generate scores through multi phase rugby, but you can't play that game all the time anymore.

Does the Championship result come down to results against teams or points difference in the end?

Because if it’s points difference,France badly missed a trick there tonight.

Osborne is a centre not a fullback, needto start playing players in their best position.

Timoney deserves a proper crack over the next few games, not jettisoned to the bench or wider squad again.

    TO'B got a lesson & a real test. He'll learn from it.

This kicking game is no good to us unless we can execute it to our benifit on a higher %.

Oddly this could work to Farrells advantage...he now has a glorious opportunity to introduce at least one new winger & a proper look at centre partnership.

I was always a Ringrose fan but he offers zero attacking threat...the go to description of Ringrose over the past few years is his shooting from the line....the attacker of 2014 u20's was long gone b4 Neinabers arrival

Virgin Media highlighting the positive play between Prendergast and Crowley switching at first receiver and how it allows both an extra split second to pick a pass and put a player through a gap. Leinster have played better with two distributors in the backline. Would like to see that with Ireland.

Jack Crowley is not a 'top class international 10'.

    None of our options are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

We have a bevy of talented centres sitting on their arses watching at home, while Ringrose does **** all yet again. We have a bunch of wingers with power and pace doing similarly. Farrell decides to pick a 12 who hasn't played all season to start at 15 over guys who've been performing well at fb for their Provinces.

Farrell is accepting mediocrity, in the players and the coaching staff, and we're seeing the results on the pitch.

We Will struggle against Italy next week, Brex and Menoncello could tear us a new one

Can we get all these people who constantly gripe about POC to give him credit after tonight?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,343 ✭✭✭bingobango12

Their centres are excellent and probably the best in the championship but Irelands pack should have too much next week. Could easily see a close game but would be a massive upset to lose at home to Italy, even with their big improvement and our decline lately.

I completely agree and I think Harry Byrne is the safest option.

Hopefully our young man in Connacht, Sean Naughton, gets opportunities soon to see if he's good enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 4,020 ✭✭✭50HX

Yes...his job of getting the lineout functioning back to test level standard was a success.

The question now is how long before it unravels yet again as is the trend.

Hopefully tonight was the start of some consistency

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,666 ✭✭✭SaoPaulo41

I hope you are right, but it all looks so stale from us , from coaches to players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,988 ✭✭✭Paddy_Mag

We were pretty poor in Rome last year. If Italy don't have any major injuries after this weekends game they will make a game of it next week in dublin.
