No, that's not what I'm talking about - I've posted in a couple of existing threads for the first time, that used to automatically bookmark it for you but it isn't doing that now.

And yet ANOTHER glitch - I was posting earlier in this thread, I wanted to add a couple of screenshots to illustrate the point I was making - so I took one screenshot, put it in a reply and saved draft, then went off to get the second screenshot, added that and posted the lot.

But my initial draft post that I'd saved will not go away - I've left it below - I've posted a couple of times since that in this thread, but that draft will not disappear.

Re the double posting - it's not only happening within threads - where a new thread is opened, it seems to be opening duplicates as well

@HeidiHeidi Delete the draft from this link!

I created a draft in this thread because my last post was delayed posting, when I refreshed the page it had been posted.

And yeah, you post but nothing happens, only when you refresh the page you see it was posted.

Bookmarks and having to refresh on the page to see your post are related.

    Edit: -

Just tested again on desktop browser and was not required to refresh the page so the bookmark triggered.

@con747 Reported below that server disruption so maybe related?

    @jj880 & @Dan Steely

Nobody has tagged or quota me tonight so don't know if there are working? Notifications!

As reported above service outage, so they may have applied a patch?

The notifications on my phone are partially working again!

The number on the bell is still stuck, but if I click on it I can see a list of recent threads, not just those up to the 28th of Jan, like this morning

Now the notification list and numbers on the bell are catching up and bringing up arrears, the last post on the bell doesn't match those on the bookmarks list.

Had a load of "new" notifications from before the 29th of January earlier, all posts I read already.

    I'm getting random notifications now.

I've just been told by @HeidiHeidi that I came last at Wordle last week. I was traumatised enough first time around 😭😭.

I’m getting those new notifications now last few days in cribs and drabs, mostly for quoted posts and replies from a week or so ago.

Getting pop-up notifications that are for old posts is new, the bell has been randomly advertising new posts where often there are no new posts and the link takes you back several (dozen) pages, for a good while.

From around 8 yesterday evening until an hour ago I have received 224 email notifications of new posts. That will keep me busy for a wee while!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 33,262 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Haha, and I just got your response to that (again!).

Boards is turning into very hard work lately!

    Hi there all,

I have reports from Vanilla that timeout issues have been resolved and a fix and mitigation measures have been set on this as a resolve and future proofing so this issue can be detected a little sooner in the future.

    Thanks guys,

    Mike.

Getting sporadic bouncing on threads again, usually on threads with a lot of quotes like it used to happen. Desk Top, Duck Duck browser.

The bouncing never stopped for me using Chrome on android tablet but it has changed tactics. Instead of several bounces I'm getting one single "bounce back" which occurs after about 20 - 30 seconds. Very frustrating.

Iseemst to be getting worse if anything.

Boards outage in the last few minutes?

The web server reported a gateway time-out error.

    Ray ID: 9cfff81b8c05122c

No reported planned outage. Are vanilla working on improvements?

Down again with a scheduled maintenance!

There are still some old notifications popping up for me, only a few days old in most cases but the deja vu and associated mild confusion is not nice

I'm still seeing ghost notifications, too, and the number on the phone doesn't match the number on the browser.

Also - the "Cookie Settings" link at the bottom of the pages just isn't there, if you click on it nothing happens.

    @Boards.ie: Mike

One more thing: I think Google is "spying" on Boards - I am positive I put the most restrictive permissions possible on my cookie settings here, and I've set Firefox both on the browser and the phone to "No third party cookies allowed". And yet, on YT (which is also set not to remember anything and with no personalised suggestions and that more often than not I open on a private window without being logged into my gmail account) I get suggestions related to thread I follow on Boards (e.g. Ads that were acceptable in the past but that are inappropriate today). I can't exclude that the YT links embedded here leave "crumbs" elsewhere, but this is a pain and it's only started happening in the past week to 10 days or so.

    Thanks.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
