Delighted for Sesko, I reckon he's going to be huge for us. He certainly has the chops, pity he didn't get much service 2nd half. We should be looking to always score more but our midfield again looks flaky which puts extra pressure on defence. Goal difference is going to be important come the end of the season with us, Liverpool and Chelsea scrapping for 4th.

Thought today showed how badly we need another middfield option. I find it astonishinig the club think we can reply on Casemiro, Mainoo and Ugarte to cover the two spots.

DELIGHTED for Sesko. He needed that goal, and I feel its a chance we;ve seen him spin on and put off target. Lovely bit of play from Bruno.

Great win, players showing their metal again, last year after the equalizer they were likely to drop the heads and end up losing.

Not holding out much hope, but if the club could bring in a midfielder by tomorrow evening, it'd give a great boost for staying in the top 5.

An injury to Casemiro now would see us goosed.

Even keeping with the clubs philosophy on only spending in no.1 targets for the first XI, a loan signing until the end of the season doesn't go against that.

Agree, its a world cup year - there must be some player better than Ugarte who is not getting enough minutes at their own club and wants a chance to get into their national team.

I wouldn't be surprised if Villa drop off and it ends up a 4 horse race for 3rd with Fulham the best of the rest.

Hope we don’t get a new manager bounce Spurs next week

Listening to TOTD during the week, they made a good point re Amorim's silence.

Obviously he'll be pissed at being sacked, and especially since he'll feel hard done by for the lack of wing backs, midfielders etc and the way things ended with Wilcox.

However, he had massive support from the fans, despite the worst record of any United manager in the last 50 years, and was supported right up and even beyond his sacking.

And yet not a peep since leaving. No statement, no thank you, nothing.

    Poor form.

Angel Gomes heading to Wolves on loan with a £7m buy clause.

When it was 2-2 I can't be 100% sure but I think the co commentator said something like "This is setup for Wilson to score a winner" did anyone else hear that or am I going mad?

Steve Holland has to take a lot of credit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,726 ✭✭✭caviardreams

TBF everyone is rightly singing carrick's praises but it seems the decision to partner him with Holland was excellent - everyone seems to speak really highly of him and Maguire, Kobbie and Shaw knew him from the England setup so he was coming with authority and buy-in

That was a great win all things considered. The non penalty on Mbeumo, the pulling of Cunha carrying on into the box, 12 minutes injury time, a very soft penalty against Maguire that never gets given, and Jimenez clearly stopping in his run up to take it which is also against the rules.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Wow that's erm a tad biased.

It was a pen against Maguire.

12 minutes was due to the time for the two goals + the 9 given.

The pulling of Cunha didn't continue into the box.

I do agree Mbuemo should have gotten a penalty and Jimenez should have been asked to retake.

    Great win! Fulham are decent.

    Delighted for Sesko.

I'm starting to really like this team again!

Replacing Casemiro is top level priority as the drop off to Ugarte is glaring!!

    that’s some finish by Solanke.

Unreal take from Sesko, his first touch off the post in the header, his goal was instinctive, he knew where the goal was without even looking.

Lammens made some great saves that were point blank which needed some reactions.

    Such a difference

You dont think the fact that the World Cup is this summer is a factor in a players motivation ?

Casemiro recently received a recall to the Brazilian squad after a 2 year absence, Ancelotti is the Brazilian manager now.

Casemiro was poor last season, his legs looked like they were gone.

He is playing much better recently, and he got the Brazilian recall so Ive no idea why you would dismiss what I said as a load of rubbish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,304 ✭✭✭AidoEirE

He was rubbish in a system that didnt suit him legs being gone and he should leave the football before it leaves him.

Put him in a midfield 3 like with eth and now Carrick and a player is playing to their strengths.

I'd expect Mainoo to get a call up as well

    Spurs fightback is bitter sweet.

Likely saves us from having to face a new manager bounce next week, but also might give them a little confidence boost.

    Great for Arsenal.

Just 6 points and 27 goals off second place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,801 ✭✭✭Corvo

Good win that and some nice performances if a little flat at times, but big shout out to Lammens, so happy to have a decent goalie. May I never set eyes on Onana again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,726 ✭✭✭caviardreams

As well as the saves he cleared some great corners that really took pressure off

One of his best games for us imo - whoever scouted him should be promoted!

Dear God no, we heard enough from him. Enjoy the silence.

Yup. And it's not like he's been a world beater as yet, but he's solid. You're not fearing a mistake leading to a goal every time the ball goes near him.

And the pressure on him, especially at his age, to even be "just OK" after the 2 buffoons before him must have been immense. He's been a great signing.
