Engine Auto Start/Stop function in modern cars - it's a pain in the arse, especially after you forget to disable it when the engine cuts out every time you stop.

My TA, blaming big business, government etc for the death of that poor child.

The only one responsible is the teenager riding the bike and if he is under legal age for riding a bike, his numptie parents for buying him the bike or for ignoring the fact that he had a bike that he didn’t buy.

Why aren’t parents make responsible for rearing feral children? We give them child allowance, breakfast clubs, give them lunch (sometimes during holiday breaks) - when do they have to step up and actually parent.

RIP that poor child, a beautiful looking girl taken too soon.

proper stormy out there, serious wind and rain…my little dîckhead neighbour has gone on a trip and left her cat outside… earlier her grandmother was down presumably to feed it, its still outside..
Her social media as in her ‘X’ is great craic….The most right on, holier then thou sister, moralising on everything and at everyone, the best little environmentalist, women’s rights, this cause / that cause but just can’t be arsed looking after her pet, grand it gets blown all over the garden and soaked to bits eh…

You wouldn't consider giving the cat shelter in your shed or boiler house for the night?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,985 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

unfortunately there is about an 8.5 ft wall between both gardens so getting to the cat will not be safe or practical in the dark and especially with that wind…

Tonights TA, being granted a whopper of a ONE EURO discount on a bulk heathcare product order that came to €99.40, so I’m paying €98.40…. Jeeez they’ve really guaranteed a lifetime of repeat custom with that doozy of a whopping level of corporate generosity… 🤦🏻‍♂️

I don't suppose their side gate is open?

Does the poor thing have bo shelter at all? If it's dangerous to be out for someone as big as a person, imagine how dangerous it'd be for the poor cat...

I was in Lidl earlier, finished shopping, I usually pay by card, but had some cash on me and decided to use it. I got short changed, decided not to say anything as it was less than a Euro, and there was a long line of people in the queue. I had to ask for the receipt as well, but that was because I bought an electrical product, and you never know.

Anyway, that's not the worst of it. Was about to head out the exit, picked up one of their leaflets and I hear this loud voice saying "Can you order me a taxi?" This woman probably in her 60's, just goes up to the checkout ahead of everyone to the teller. He looked confused, I don't blame him. She repeats it again, "Can you order me a taxi? It shouldn't be a problem." No manners whatsoever, no please.

Then goes over to another checkout, same story. Demands to see management. The girl on the checkout, talks with management on her headset, asking can we get her a number for a taxi. She's polite and says, sorry, we don't have a number. The aul wan then walks out, goes by me and I can hear her swearing, "the f###ing cheek".

Strange, because that's exactly what I was thinking about her. She comes back a minute or so later and roars in to a friend that was still in there "(name), there's a taxi here." Her friend then goes out to her.

It's not Lidl's job to order her a taxi. And what would have happened if they did ring her a taxi, the taxi driver turns up, but she's already gone with another one?

Get that all the time as I use a VPN that picks best location based in ping. What country does whatismyip.com say you are in?

It says I'm in London which is correct. I'm using an incognito window on a Windows PC at work.

Took me 35 minutes to move less than 2km on the bus this morning. Eventually had to abandon ship as I wouldn't have made it into work in time for my 9.30 call. Took me another half an hour to get back home and had to change my clothes when I did, I was so wet. Turned my laptop on to see an email from our CEO sent 5 minutes after I'd left the house saying there was no need to come into the office as the weather was so bad 😫

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,734 ✭✭✭The Continental Op

Don't suppose you can set a rule up that copies any mail from CEO etc to your private gmail account so you can pick them up on your phone? I can appreciate not wanting all your companies email on your phone.

Just a thought, any chance someone in Romania was using your account? Check you haven't ordered any Amazon Gift Cards recently?

I have a work phone with email on it! But I'd already left the house before he sent it anyway.

I wasn't logged into my Amazon account. I think everything's fine on that front. Hopefully.

Sorry getting off topic, but I've had a few weird things like items ordered when I wasn't using my account. I was however still technically logged in although PC was off.

When you see "new improved recipe" on an packets of items you buy like soup. Usually it means that they have cut back on the ingredients and made it taste like crap to increase profits.

Why is it that every dustpan I've come across in the past 5 years has a bend in the rubber lip which allows all the dust and debris to just whoosh underneath the effing thing?! 😭

YES! This. And I keep forgetting to get another one - the brush has gone manky too and I haven't had it long - one of those long handled ones, great idea but need better quality.

I emailed two car dealerships in the past few weeks.

One company said they offered a scrappage scheme and I asked for a litttle more info on it. They just sent me back the Donedeal ad.

Another dealership I asked was the VAT/VRT/etc paid. I got back a very generic reply with no answer.

I get the impression they just want you to phone them. So, they can push a test drive on you.

Councils are making roads more narrow at junctions and turns. Large vehicles like buses are mounting curbs, footpaths and into other lanes be it oncoming or into the left turning lane. Coming up to the Tower Hotel from the quays in Waterford and the bus heading towards Cork road stays right but then drifts into the left lane that I am in and only for hanging back I would have had the side of the car taken off. I hang back because it has become a problem in the city with buses and lorrys not driving correctly or drifting lanes.

Who do insurance companies go after if it a bus drifting over lanes because of idiot road planners.

I’m presuming so as the grandmother of the young wan living there is seen calling in..how often is another thing…

TA.. Installed the latest software update for my tablet and all of a sudden the thing is charging at a snails pace. Just in case.. I swapped over to brand new charging cable out of the box and changed the USB plug and no difference….

It’s an older piece of kit now 7-8 years old but I love it and have looked after it with kid gloves. Why the fukkk do these tech companies from time to time release updates that actually dis-improves the performance of stuff ?

    mental…🪫
