Slightly embarrassing question given I am a Chartered Accountant for yonks but I cannot complete my Income Tax return for 2025 (Paye only).

My problem is I have two kids in college and I want to claim rent relief for both. When I input the details for one of them, my tax credits update but the rent relief section of My Family disappears and my only option appears to be to edit or delete the first entry. I cannot see an option to add number two such as appears under Tuition Fees. Am I missing something or can you only claim for one child even though the 10K limit is not reached?

I have raised a query under My Enquiries but the lads and lasses must be all off skiing.

    Any guidance greatly appreciated, thanks.

The trick, apparently is to put all the claim under the first name. It worked for me anyway. I have uploaded copies of the bank transfers so if they come back to me I have the backup.

It must be a pretty common problem and an easy fix considering you can claim for two tuition fees.
