    Of course there's both sides.

ICE are thugs and murderers who are killing and disappearing people. It's a way for Trump to give cushy handouts to some of the worst people in the US so they can indulge their baser impulses. It's also a nice way to shore up the base.

The politicians rabble rousing are the GOP, a little detail you opted not to mention. One party has embraced fascism and only one. It's the same party that loves school shootings and child beauty pageants.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Interacting with a bunch of dangerous thugs which ICE are is foolish. There is nothing wrong with saying this.

Being a martyr for what is not really that great a cause it's just the deportation of people who are not legally in the country is not admirable, it means you are dead and your family and friends have to continue without you.

Easy for you to say it isn't foolish you're not the one who is suffering now.I imagine the 2 families of the 2 people who were killed some of their first thoughts were, why the hell didn't they just stay at home.

    This is not correct.

All states are authorised an independent militia, though just under half (including Minnesota) do not have an active one in practice even though they have the laws on the books and can call it up. These militias cannot be called into federal service.

Most states have legislation with a wider "net" than the Federal militia act (mainly to ensure they still have one after the Feds take their cut)

I have a primer video on the matter.

Go to about 16 minutes in for the State militias.

    Play Video

Of course, this is just the legal side of things, if Minnesota decided to activate their State Guard it would be something of a mess for a few weeks while either people get shocked that they are actually in the militia, (For example, all females under 64 are in the Minnesota militia but not in the federal militia) or just figure out who's where, got what, and who's in charge.

This is what the MAGA movement and the millions of cult members secretly crave. The US becomes a right wing authoritarian state and the right to protest against the regime (by 'lefties') is abolished…..all under the pretext of restoring law and order.

here are some stills from the video….

That doesn't give them the authority to do whatever the **** they want. They can't simply attack or murder civilians. There's plenty of documented events of them behaving unacceptably including this one and that was before they even they shot the man. My point stands, random shootings by law enforcement that are justified by the regime is a symptom of either an outright authoritarian regime or a declining democracy.

If something similar happened in France or Germany or Ireland for that matter. There would be a transparent investigation and it would end up going to trial. In Trump's America, it doesn't. Instead the victim is labeled a terrorist. Meanwhile we have people such as yourself who will blame the victims for being present and not being a danger.

I'll repeat, this man was an ICU nurse for veterans and had a great reputation. He had no recorded encounters with law enforcement prior to this.

In 100 years time there will be university courses on how the reign of a president half a world away managed to have so much coverage in Ireland when we have kids sleeping in a hotel room for their 3rd consecutive cold January. What America does or who they elect should not elicit such hyperbolic reaction when we have our own problems - Matt Cooper and Pat Kenny are obsessed with Trump - Why??

The irony of having George Soros right hand man leading the Trump administrations financial plan as secretary of the treasury seems to be lost on Maga. I doubt even 0.5% of them know.

If America had a proper justice system Trump would be in jail and not be the President of America.

To anyone questioning what happened here, check out this stabilised and slowed down video.

Absolutely clear as day, guy in blue jeans with the black hat in the middle of the frame was itching to shoot someone.

Oops ICE has done that already. They broke down the door of a home of a US citizen, they handcuffed him removed him in sub zero temperatures and held him for 24 hours. When they invaded his home without a warrant he offered them identification but the refused to allow him to get it. The man they were searching for was already in detention

In the case of Rene Good she was dropping off her son. At the very worst she gave Mr. Ice a bit of backchat and she got 3 bullets fired into her, which you are trying to blame her for…and let's be honest that's what your in favour of.

You say she should have "stayed at home".

Listen to yourself. You're embarrassing yourself. Shame on you.

It's hard to see any other long game at this point. Like, it's easy to yell "Nazi!" and "Fascist!" but when you've men in masks killing and disappearing people it's impossible to come up with any other explanation.

American magats won't see what they've done until it's too late.

Trumps stormtroopers are executing people on the streets with impunity and still there are fcukwits who will excuse it

Why did anyone care about the rise of fascism in 1930s?

apparently we're not allowed to care about more than one issue at a time.

We're a year in and he's repeatedly threatened European security. On top of that, plenty of us have family in the US. So US leadership directly and indirectly impacts us. That's ignoring the obvious impacts on trade and employment etc. It's pretty naive to view US leadership as irrelevant to us.

This is the Trump thread. Stands to reason, he would be talked about. He is also the president of the USA, "Leader of the free world". As we know, our economies are tied to this person/country, and his actions. Good reason to be aware of what is happening. Our annual free access to the American Government is coming up, 17th March, again, increased chatter because of it. Also, people are capable of having more than one thought, and can talk/think about Trump and be empathetic around the sleeping arrangements of some younger people in this country.

I find the idea that people can't care about what Donald Trump, the most powerful figure in the world does because of potholes on local roads or HSE waiting times rather odd to say the least.

An interesting difference that can be seen between Canada and the US is if you ever visit Niagara Falls. On o e sideways is Buffalo NY a sh!those on the other side is Niagara Fall, Ontario a nice city.

When we visited we spend too long onnthe US side

So your assessment of the 13 people murdered by the British army in Derry on 30th. January 1972 would be that it was their own fault because they were peacefully protesting.

As a poster has already mentioned to you stop embarrassing yourself.
