It's politics. I'd be naive to think otherwise. They were handed a golden goose on a plate and they used every dirty trick in the book to take advantage of it. I'll tell you who was naive. The Dems for not sorting out the mess earlier.

Nice statistic but what use is a higher deportation count when you're letting them in by the droves. What's the net migration under Trump Vs Biden? Not as many deportations will be needed either if it's not a free for all at the border.

The mental gymnastics to somehow blame everything on the Dems, when the republicans literally have full control right is baffling.

    Trumps fans are very creative.

I'm just commenting on history. The democrats were a shambles last term. They couldn't even help Ukraine properly. Constantly holding back aid because they didn't want to give MAGA another talking point. But then they lose anyway so they should have went all in on military aid when they had the chance. Useless.

Now we have a president who's unfriendly to Ukraine at a crucial stage of the war.

It is not exactly a golden goose for Trump either.

58% disapprove of his immigration agenda.

If Trump`s deportations are going as well as you appear to believe, where are the verifiable figures to show that. This administration has stopped issuing the monthly figures and instead gives a hodgepodge of random press releases stating figures without any breakdown.

What's the net migration statistic this term Vs the last?

Trump's draft-dodging is one of the only things I respect about him. It is morally right to dodge a pointless immoral war on the other side of the world and I do not believe one needs to go to prison as a contentious objector for it to be moral. That part is just completely arbitrary and up to the country sending off soldiers.

But doing that completely removes your right to basically say anything about soldiers who did go to war.

Calling dead US soldiers losers and suckers is one thing, but the attacks on other countries' dead soldiers are beyond the pale. It really is one of the most viscerally cúntish things he has ever done with regards to supposed allies. It is just so unnecessary and so vile and it is no wonder Starmer, Farage, and Prince Harry are all condemning it.

He is claiming that NATO are unreliable when direct NATO action has only ever been taken in response to 9/11. Hours after 9/11, he called a radio station in New York saying his building was now the tallest in Manhattan. And he wasn't even correct.

What does “a shambles” even mean? Trump was the one who got republicans to block aid to Ukraine, you could have googled that for christs sake. It was political for the republicans, who were the ones constantly holding back the votes for aid. Get your facts right before you spout utter nonsense.

The irony must be lost on you here, Trump could easily send Ukraine all the arms it needs, but he is clearly Putins lapdog and won’t.

All the blame, as always, lies with the orange moron, who you’re a fan of.

Starmer could not let Trump’s slander go. We’re already hearing the response from soldiers who lost limbs and mothers without sons. I got goosebumps when one of those women spoke on the Beeb tonight. Her son was the youngest British fatality. How she was able to control herself is beyond me.

Tell me you don't follow the Ukrainian thread without telling me. At the beginning of the war when Biden had control he held back on crucial weapon supplies. Not only that they put restrictions on what Ukraine could do with them. An absolute farce and a sign of weakness. That was the time to break the Russians early before they mobilised and adjusted to the battlefields reality.

The fact Trump couldn't be relied on was all the more reason to go all in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,750 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

Biden, and even republicans, were very supportive of Ukraine early in the war. Under Biden there was almost $180 billion allocated.

Let’s compare that to Trump, who PAUSED aid in March last year. Did not sign any new support packages for Ukraine either. There is your farce, there is your weakness. All from a coward draft dodger as well.

So save the faux outrage and lies (it’s that or your ignorant of Bidens aid to Ukraine), put it to use if you can, but as a Trump supporter, you simply can’t.

Done more for russia nothing for Ukraine

Profiting on the war and excluding only Russia from tariffs

Allies should demand apologies and gratitude for complying with A5 in 2001

Boycott 🇺🇸 as much as possible

Everyone knows Putin controls Trump, whether it’s because of tapes or the amount he owes Russian banks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 337 ✭✭somenergy

The last year of a presidency especially as biden thought he could run again is always problematic for the elected and democracies in general, with an evil dictator putin he kept threatening escalation on purpose and their was a risk of oil price spiking.

Now a convicted felon was trying to stay out of prision along with musk who was been investigated.

Other dirty tricks that where been pulled not allowing a bipartisan bill on border controls beening passed as this would effect immigration as an election issue

In july 24 bb flew to maro lago to plan a delay on any gaza cease fire b4 the election

Now we are where we are and its getting worse imo

I don't buy the idea of prostitute tapes being a weapon of blackmail.

The only tapes that could sink him would be underage footage. Not saying it exists btw. I don't think any adult footage would do much damage at this stage.

Whilst there is much to lament about the Trump administration's actions on Ukraine and his receptability to Putin, Biden's administration did not exactly go with the gold standard either, starting with his clear and unequivocal statement that the US was not going to get involved should Putin invade Ukraine.

The arms support became a running gag. "We don't want to give F16s, it'll escalate" (many months later, F16s). "We don't want to give tanks, it'll escalate". (Many months later, Tanks). "We don't want to give ATACMS, it'll escalate". (Many months later, ATACMS). Etc. Of course it's escalating. It's a bloody invasion and war of existence. But just drip feed enough to stay in the fight, don't give what was needed when it was needed...

The global response to Ukraine has been embarrassing, and the Biden administration is not immune to criticism just because Trump's manages to be even worse. We should not have allowed it to get to get to year 5...

    All this crap.

Trump has been infinitely worse for Ukraine, by every metric. He paused support for Ukraine, is there a saying “if you want any help, don’t ask Trump”?

Biden was no saint, but he is compared to Trump.

You could replace "Biden" with almost any other name and your last remark would still ring true. But strong early action on Ukraine might have prevented the current situation.

US to offer more limited support to allies, including South Korea.

On the other hand, the US recently agreed a $11bn arms sale to Taiwan.

Dodging a draft because you morally object to the war and feel its unjust is one thing. Dodging it while you completely support it but don't want to run any risk yourself is quite another. I think Trump falls into the latter rather than the former.

Reminded me a lot of the North-America centric Terran Empire symbol from Star Trek:

    IMG_1054.jpeg

For those who are not Trekkies, this is the symbol of an alternative reality evil Earth that ruled the galaxy with an iron fist.

For those who are Trekkies….keep an eye put for your friends suddenly sporting Goatees…

He is really annoyed the Brits saying they did nothing in Afghanistan.

Its a bit of an awkward one for GB News because they always agreed with everything Trump said.

More naval gazing from the US. Japan and South Korea better get to work on those nukes.

I’m a bit of a branding / logo nerd and Donnie’s League of Evil Board of «Peace» logo just smacks of a half assed typical Trump-sponsored rush job that lacks any thought or planning.

Look at this AI generated mess:

    IMG_1055.jpeg

    It is:

    • Uneven and poorly centerer with that stupid «shield» smacked in there.
    • Noisy and overly complicated with the laurel leaves.
    • Contains gaudy gradients «designed» to make it seem golden.
    • The gold colour itself works badly with white.
    • Designed in a way with will probably never work in monochrome, meaning it will always have to be done in colour.
    • That AI disaster of a world map can’t even get the latitude and longitude lines right, which themselves just add to the noise.

    Compared to better examples:

    IMG_1056.png
    • Well centered with the whole symbol following the same circle pattern.
    • The Laurel leaves are simplified but still apparent.
    • They even worked out a world projection that tries its best to give every continent a roughly even showing.
    • It works in monochrome.
    • All the lines are weighted well.

I guess the point I’m getting at is that although Donnie is great at self-promotion and self-branding, he is very feckless when it comes to branding damn near everything else. This smacks of a last minute vanity project where Donnie demanded that one of his lackeys go make him a UN replacement logo in gold for him to wave about. One ChatGPT session later, and we have this crap.

I don’t think we’re going to see much of the Board of Peace symbol in coming years. Call it a hunch.

And just to make things more interesting for America, Open AI is in freefall. $15m per day running costs with revenue dropping and they were performing poorly anyway.

Why the Saudis and Qataris would throw $50bn at this car crash is anyone's guess. If they go down they'll take alot of other smaller AI stocks with them plus Nvidia and Oracle are heavily tied in to Open AI.
