Yip, no ditch finders on my stuff.

Get changed when they reach wear markers or expiry date, whichever comes first.

Age is just a number if taken care of properly.

This is a bike that when I bought it, it needed a little tlc.

Not too shabby for 32 years old if I say so myself.

Lord save me, I just read an American say "As someone who recreates a lot outdoors…". No. No. Just absolutely fcuking not. You have outdoor hobbies. You spend a lot of time outdoors. You do not, never have and never will "recreate" outdoors. Merciful hour 🤦‍♀️

Honestly if you can afford it get the vaccine. I had shingles a few years ago (I was 40 it's not an old persons condition). It was absolute torture. My left eye was so swollen I couldn't feel the whole left side of my face for days. Then the virus gets into the back of my eye which is very dangerous but turned out ok after several weeks of weekly eye tests. It's awful.

I think it was this thread I pointed out before that if my wife is with me and we see someone that needs help on the side of the road she says "YOU ARE NOT STOPPING".

Wake me up when it's all over.

Thanks . I went to GP today to get the prescription . Shocking that only those who can afford it can get it

The Chickenpox vaccine radically reduces the risk of shingles apparently. Most people have had that for decades now. Might be the thinking in not making it available free. Most likely the cost though.

same here, ours dragging bins out about midnight or after…part of a bin is contacting the concrete for the time it’s moving..makes a ferocious grating sound, wheel must be broken, unreal tightwads, new bin is about €40-€50.

Their doorbell broke, not replaced, all visitors hammer on the window to get in..letterbox flap fell off as people were using it to knock, that wasn’t replaced, car broke down, never repaired..sat for two years, never saw a window cleaner ever call..or ever any recurring maintenance on the property…grass growing to about a foot before they think about cutting it…

Or just in dire financial difficulties.

Virtue signalling protests against Allianz sponsoring the National Leagues in GAA.

I assume the same worry warts never use X or TikTok on their iPhones, and are 100% sure that everything they use in their life is ethically sourced or imported from 'good' countries.

Its an amateur sport at the end of the day, a tiny blip in the sporting revenue ocean.

unlikely as the girl living there is the daughter of a fairly prominent tabloid journalist and said individual owns the place too, used to live in it before changing their main career and relocating..

The chicken pox vaccine hasnt been freely available for decades ? In fact its only given to babies born since 2024 .
Certainly the over 70’s have not had a chicken pox vaccine

Shingles are annoying. I got them when I was neary 20 in 2012.

I noticed a little lump on my head/scalp. I thought I hit it off the wall during the night. Then another one appeared. Then over night they went down my forhead and ended up with one on my eyelid.

Went to the Dr and he said what they were. I got antibiotics and a cream for them. I didn't bother with the ceam because ot stung like crazy and i think the Dr said it was optional.

They weren't to painful just like neddles pressing on your head but not nice either. The one on my eyelid was the worst. They cleared up fast enough.

I still get occasional pains in my head where I had the spots. Especially when the weather turns cold.

Rang the hospital to enquire about my lost driver's licence. Switch put me through Day Services where i had my appointment. They hadn't found it and said they would put me back to switch who would transfer to lost and found. Switch said there no lost and found in the hospital. Porters make a bonfire every Friday for the weeks found properly.

Last part isn't true but they must do something with any lost property they find.

    First part is TA.

Went into my local Spar for literally two things yesterday. Converged on the one open till at the same time as a woman with two full baskets and she practically ran over my foot with one of them to get in front of me. Geebag. I'd have been halfway home and all before she'd even finished unloading them 😡

I don't shop anywhere that doesn't have self-service. Thankfully, now have 4 supermarkets here who do, and have stopped with paranoia about being recorded at Dunnes!

Mini-TA - being recorded at Dunnes!

Hate to break it to you, but you're being recorded pretty much everywhere you go I'm afraid!

Can't stop family visiting/calling in unannounced - that's fine - but what person in their right mind, when a fully functioning doorbell exists, would knock on the window of an 83 year old woman when she's home alone late at night? They scared the wits out of my MIL and she's a nervous person at the best of times. She's nearly scared to stay in her own home at night now.

That must be Nigel with the brie...

On the Traitors they have a fancy dining room and a kitchen with a massive island yet most of them still eat their meals off their laps sitting in armchairs and sofa.

It annoys me to see it for some reason.

When it would be easier to do something yourself rather than have someone else do it.

When you keep telling somebody how to do something and without fail they keep doing it wrong. Some people just don't listen.

One of my elderly neighbours, during lockdown, used to call to the house unannounced and would ring the doorbell, usually at very inconvenient times. I had taken to answer to her from the upstairs windows to stop having to open the door to her (it's not as if she needed anything, it was usually a social call and she lived with her daughter - let me repeat, lockdown and I was working from home). One day, as I was still in my pyjamas, having gone through the side of the house and onto the backgarden, she knocked on the glass of the patio door of the kitchen making a big, booming noise, and scared the bejaysus out of me. She said she didn't want to ring the doorbell so as not to disturb me. Not enough facepalms. She said she wanted to see if I was ok as she hadn't seen me in a few days. Thanks but 1. Lockdown. 2. WFH. 3. My front door wasn't within sight of her own front door to see me coming or going. 4. Ever heard of phoning, first?

Don't get me wrong, she's a lovely woman, but FFS…

But you don't know how many times we've been late for things because of me stopping to help stranded motorists.

Wake me up when it's all over.

TA…A couple of days ago bought, brought in and stacked a crate of kiln-dried birch firewood. And its giving me serious rhinitis, evidently I am allergic to something about it. (birch spores, mould?) Which is a bit odd as it hasn't happened before, including with birch. I have all the windows open, its worse in the morning more than in the evening so presumably something to do with the room being closed overnight. I have a log store outside but reluctant to put kiln dried timber outside, and it would be a huge job to move it. I'll try ventilating the place, maybe it will go away. I wonder would spraying it with diluted bleach help? Its really not that trivial.
