Maybe but some of it is perfectly legitimate and some of it is just MAGA propaganda.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

    Leviticus 19:34

All of Trump's new scandals share 'common theme' with Epstein: analysis

"All these issues are tied together under one common theme: Trump is the worst kind of bully, a cowardly one," Marcotte wrote. "Like his friend Epstein — who enjoyed targeting small, helpless teenage girls — the most important thread throughout Trump’s life is that he tries to feel big by harassing those who he feels can’t fight back."

Sums up Trump's strategy on most issues.

Danish guy and a history lecturer from UCD discussing it on Today fm. None of them seem to be taking his promise of not invading very seriously... A general acceptance that he's full on deranged as well.

What did Putin promise just before he invaded Ukraine?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,727 ✭✭✭skimpydoo

The orange fooker is totally deranged. His speech today was nuts, going off on a tangent about Somalia, saying he won't use force in Greenland but the US will remember if they don't get Greenland. I wonder what he is threatening to do instead?

2 days in a row we have gotten deranged speeches from Trump. It's time he was removed from office.

The validation of Facility and Equipment take years, that is a huge stumbling block and experienced personnel is also a barrier, 5 years would be outstanding to get a facility up and running by which time he will be well gone.

They could not have failed not to know. But like some of the Hispanics, and Irish as well as others, somehow convinced themselves they were safe and with the same sense of begrudgery we are often noted for, opted for pulling up the drawbridge after themselves on the "I`m all right Jack" belief.

True. He probably thinks they are crying because they want him to come in and rescue them.

Dont see the point of the whole thing myself. He is going to go down in history as the cruellest **** up of a president ever. The next administration is going to be all nice and try to repair all the damage, with the first step being making a big deal of returning Greenland if Trump takes it.

The amount of people in the US who were fooled twice is staggering. The pool of idiots who will be kicked around and fooled a third time has to be much, much smaller.

Normal people will be back eventually. Who know what damage he will do until then though.

That would be the spin. Greenland makes children cry, wouldn't happen under Trump!

The ‘we’ clapping there are not the common peasantry of Europe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,323 ✭✭✭Ardillaun

It’s the theatrics of it all that adds so much to the humiliation. Instead of a quiet word about the visa they’re taken down like terrorists.

If I lived in Greenland I would not believe a word this megalomaniac has to say, but it is interesting how quickly he does an about face when the bond markets get a rattle.

If I lived in Iceland I would be sceptical as well because this moron doesn`t seem to know the difference and could send his military to invade them by mistake.

America is kinda worried about illegal immigration. While Trump’s supporters love the ICE raids, they also expect cheap milk and lawn care, so don’t send them all home. A few jail terms for the big employers of illegals in farming and hospitality would make everyone leery - that’s no fun, though, and anyway those guys are Trump megadonors. Let’s not get carried away here.

He said earlier he needs Greenland to keep Americas dangerous enemies at bay.

    Who is he talking about!?

Can’t be Putin and XI as he called them great friends a few minutes earlier.

    Someone help me out.

Yeah, America needs radical changes to how it provides health care imo. But, America doesn't do radical. Even the recent kerfuffle about expiring premium supports really was a bandage on a wound - give us back our discounts for the insurance we can't ordinarily afford that you gave us during Covid.

And pols on both sides milked it ferociously, the GQP not in a good way and it has bitten them and will bite them more. Made it easy for the Democrats to look good.

Based on the polls, the Democratic senate seat in Michigan looks vulnerable. Gary Peters is retiring so there has to be a primary. On the Democratic side McMorrow and Al-Sayed are behind Rogers. I think Rogers is a traditional pro-NATO, Russia-hawk and so it wouldnt be the end of the world if he got in, except that Trump needs a check. Rep Haley Stevens seems to be narrowly the strongest against Rogers.

The Democratic primary polls show the following (amount of cash raised included):

since 1870, 20 people have been killed by polar bears. It’s about time someone done something about them.

”Canada lives because of the United States.” “They should be grateful.” I have to be measured about what I say here about this excuse for a human being while he openly threatens his country’s neighbour.

Japan might be the unwitting saviour here without the EU having to do much.

The spike in Japanese treasury yields and the likely repatriation of a good chunk of the $1trn in American treasury bonds plus at least as much in the US stock market.

Its becoming a perfect storm for America. Some allies leave because you alienate them, some leave due to economic reasons and patriotism. And other countries who you look at as inferior hate you. They wanted to isolate themselves and they've achieved it.

It won't matter what the next administration does, America is heading over the cliff and nothing will stop it now.

Christine La Garde walked out of a dinner in Davos during a speech by U.S Commerce Secretary, Howard Luttnick. Seems Nutlick got the bird from several attendees. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/lutnick-heckled-davos-dinner-hosted-by-blackrocks-fink-ft-reports-2026-01-21/

The man sees real estate opportunities where normal people don't. For example, when Israel was committing a genocide and the complete destruction of Gaza, Trump saw a new Riviera on the Med. What vision.

I think he plans to burn all the Venezuelan oil fast, thereby melting the sheet ice on Greenland. Then everyone will want a piece of the new land he has revealed and it's loadsa money in the Trump bank. The people living in Salthill currently should get priority on the real estate bidding.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Michael Smerconish on CNN was pointing out last Sunday that the level of Independents has increased considerably( a lot higher than either of the main parties,I think)

    45% I think

Thank you, good article, great to know.

I remember when the Brexit vote was confirmed, I was literally shocked to my system for a few weeks after, just completely dumbfounded.

While I'm not taking this recent turn of events quite so personally, there's a similar feeling of living through an important moment in history. Another unpleasant one.

I have no American relatives, thankfully, but anyone I know that does says their relatives are big Trump fans.

They knew alright, and in most cases it's why they voted for him.

I think what differentiates Trump from other US presidents is that he's not a God fearing president. I'm not pro-religion, it usually causes more trouble than its worth in my opinion. But Trump is the embodiment of a person who does not believe there may be any repercussions for living your life as an absolute kunt.
