The EV has a battery heater, which seems like a good idea in Winter, but raised concerns around charging via a Granny cable,my preferred method.

Also of concern during our Winter is the lack of a heat pump, some might consider an essential in an EV.?

Apparently the BMS will look after a 2.5 kW supply from the normal house 13 amp sockets, allowing the heater to take longer, without overloading the household sockets.

On the Plus side I suppose the overall small design with the moter in the rear and a 'Frunk' up front is to be welcomed?

Think both cars have folding seats, suggesting you can even sleep in them?

Any comments here abouts on reports of Inster recall for sharp plastic cutting folk in the car interior?

    Also charging issues,iccu?

330lts boot, which is very good for that size car.

Saw a review of Firefly saying rear suspension very disappointingly light?

Wondered about the Inster price North and South, now it has the max UK grant of £3,700?

Heatpump is absolutely not essential in an EV in Ireland. Nice to have, but given the choice between having one, and not having one and saving a grand or two, I'd be going with the latter. Moderate temps in Ireland don't make it worth having for the price IMO.

10% to 30% increase in range for €1,000 or so is great value

    Interesting thanks for that.

Quite,I was thinking more along the line of battery degradation due to overheating in summer,

I'm not sure if you are confusing 2 things here. Heat pump is your cabin and ambient temp control. Battery Temp control would be handled by the BMS and bar few OG EVs like the Original leaf which had No proper thermal management of the battery, you'd struggle to overheat the battery in Irish climate.

Id say depending on how much you buy your energy at and how long you keep the car among other factors like really how the heap pump is designed (Heat pump in most cases is a system rather than a single device), think its poor value. Also, seeing as heat has to be scavenged from somewhere, the cooler the temps the harder and longer it will take to get the desired temps. Saw a video somewhere, where 2 identical cars were tested, one with and the other without heatpump and the difference in energy consumed was very minimal
