They will be ePower, same as what's been recently installed at so hotels sites. I believe Pat McDonnagh has made a deal for this

2 new epower 200kw units at McDonald's Longford. Works well underway on the Tesla supercharger. Fantastic to see two companies on the same site so perhaps finally we will start to see actual competition?

Spotted a new EZO charger at Supervalu Ballisodare today. It's not on their app yet so probably not live. In checking their app for it, I also noticed EZO have 2 x 50kwh CCS charger in Dromahair now too.

    Edited to add more info.

All the new chargers are chademo so?

Yes I know new chargers posts only but is it too much to ask the charger types 9f announcements

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,260 ✭✭✭Exiled Rebel

Chademo are no longer being installed it seems. EZO replaced the charger in Lismore, Co. Waterford (1xCCS + 1 CHAdeMO) which had its cables cut in November with a new CCS x 2 charger.

Before you say it I'm a Leaf driver so am slightly miffed by it.

I'd say a commercial decision, CCS side was probably used a lot more so when the opportunity arose…..

Hi all, long time viewer here so I appreciate all the updates.

Very silly question but I want to be sure. I have an ESB ecars account so I use their chargers when I need to (rarely). I assume I rock up can use the others ones too even if I don't have an account (just pay a higher kwh rate)?

Are the connections all the same?

Get the PlugShare app and it will tell you all you seek to know…

a lot of new (but not all) fast chargers have tap to pay on them, but they do take a large pre-authorisation chunk out of your account… and if you struggle to get a charge started, you could see 2-3 of those €50 pre-authorisations show up in your account…

They’re active but not appearing on the Esb app yet which means calling to start one up?

Used these chargers this morning, very nice setup.

2 banks of Kempower chargers, no problems with cables - 4 Cars can charge and decent enough spacing between each connector with clear spaces marked.

Plug in, take note of charger number, go to payment terminal between the two charging units, select your charger (1A/1B/2A/2B), select pre-autorization amount (€25/50/75/100).

I was only car charging and max reached was 100KW.

When the site was previously ESB with single charging unit but two CCS plugs, it was limited to 100KW, so if two cars were charging the power was was split evenly between both cars.

I'd be inerested to know if the power to the site was upgraded, you would hope that its 200KW that is available accross the four chargers - if the the same 100KW accross 4 chargers, then it will be a painful charging experience of 4 x25.

Oh pricing is roughly 70c -75c per Kw/H based on what I put into the car - there is no indication of the unit price anywhere that I could see.

Used one yesterday, speeds are terrible max 44kwh. Note on chargers saying reduced power till end of March.. Yet app and signage indicates HP charging.. Very frustrating

That didn’t work for the new high power Esb chargers at the Bridgewater shopping centre in Arklow

I had to call them, get the machine reset ,plug in and out etc

It then charged nicely at about 77kw

    There’s a note saying they’re temporarily restricted to 100kw

The lady beside me couldn’t get hers going at all but refused to call,I suspect because the charging account wasn’t her’s so she just used the space as free car parking 👏😩😱
