Nothing a €50 in the ashtray won’t sort when you drop it in for inspection 🤣

just mandatory check ups at certain mileage really to maintain warranty. Pollen filter change . Nothing else really. There isn’t much that needs changing on these cars really bar tyres.

Wanted: Model 3 or Model Y. If anyone is thinking of selling, drop me a message. Looking for a 2022 or 2023 model, preferably blue or red

Will probably sell my 64kwh Kona then. Approaching 200,000km on it. Might keep it either and sell her ICE vehicle instead but haven't decided yet.

Contemplating moving on my Polestar 2. It’s a Long Range Dual Motor 78kw AWD. Needs nothing - tyres good (Continental Sport Contact 6 with the Pol marking all round) no kerbed wheels, straight panels and serviced in May.

Has the performance pack so it’s the 476bhp, Ohlins dampers, 20 inch forged wheels, big Brembos one. Pilot lite pack meaning 360 degree cameras, Pilot Assist, Adaptive Cruise. Blindspot assist, heated seats, electric boot, auto high beam, auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors. Two keys, manufacturers warranty to the end of Sept 2026, battery warranty to end of Sept 2031.

Bought it from Polestar at 6 months old/2k km, currently showing just under 42k km. Great car, but it’s underused now as I get the train to work hence the sale.

    Thinking around the 29.5k mark.

It’s a nice car and it looks well looked after but I think you’re likely to get €25K-€27K as a private sale. The recent availability of brand new €39K business edition hasn’t helped used values of older Polestar 2’s. You’re also competing with cars coming from N.I with no VRT/VAT or Customs.
No harm in putting it up at at €29.5K for a few days but if you get no calls, you’ll know why.

I’m finding it difficult to put a value on it.

What I did was look at the other 2023 2s on done deal, excluding the crash repaired one which is cheapest the next comparable mileage one is 28k (admittedly from a dealer). That’s a single motor without the performance pack too.

Cheapest dual motor I see up north is €26k without the performance pack and power upgrade. Power upgrade can be done to any dual motor though for about €1k. I suppose I’m banking on someone seeing the value of the extra few bits over a standard single motor.

www.usedcarsni.com is worth a look too for used EV’s that are cheap enough to avoid VRT. Saltmarine have a good few but none with the same spec as yours.

Saltmarine were the gang that were supplying the 2022 single motor for €26k.

    Got Sorted. Thanks.

Wanted: Tesla granny charger. If you got one and don't have any need for it, I have €150. Dublin based. They sell new for €200 from Tesla, so should be new, or in new condition. I'll probably never use it, but rather have an OEM charger than the third part one I got with the S. I already have one in the Y, never used, but want OEM for the S too. PM me

Seeking advice; apologies if this is not the correct place to post. The wife has a 2022 Ioniq 5 with 159k Kms on it - she's the second owner and uses it as a runabout; the previous owner used it daily for Dublin to Belfast trips hence the high milage for age.

It drives absolutely perfectly, is in excellent condition, bar a scratch alongside the rear passenger door. We're thinking of selling it and she will take my car with less than half the miles as I will be getting a company car soon, but finding it hard to put a price on it.

Also to consider is the first NCT is at the end of March, so I would need to factor that in too - to put it through early with a fresh 2-year test for the new owner, would it bump the price up that much considering the milage? It will be cleaned up this weekend and getting the photos ready.

I was thinking circa 18k, but I'm not sure if that's too optimistic.

(on another note, if anyone is interested, let me know!!)

Is it a 58 or 73? That'll be the big thing when picking a price. You have 20K KMs left of warranty I think so probably a good time to sell.

Looking for a really cheap EV, small EV van would do too. Range not important, just needs to be able to tow 750kg. Condition and mileage doesn't matter to me, just needs to be very cheap. 3k max.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,766 ✭✭✭✭unkel

I could be wrong, but as far as I know, no older cheap EV is rated to tow anything like that weight. Vans like Kangoo and eNV200 included. Why does it need to be EV?

A PHEV Outlander will do the trick and I would guess the cheapest BEV would be an early high miler Model 3. But that would cost you a 5 figures sum

Thanks for that, I just don't want to be burning shlt, so looking for an Ev to do the job.

Well the Outlander has a pretty decent range on electric only and you can buy them as cheap as €5-6k now sometimes. So that would be my choice on a very limited budget wanting to tow short distances with zero emissions

If it’s a 73kWh LR version, €18K should be attainable. If it’s the small battery version, you might only get €15K-€16K for it. You don’t mention spec/trim level which will also influence the price.

I'm quite sure that Hyundai Ioniq 5 warranty is 160 kkm so it's nearly gone.

You can go through NCT up to 90 days early without impacting the expiry date. I suggest you go for NCT asap as it will ad value and give reassurance to any purchaser.

You need to confirm warranty terms especially mileage limits. It can vary by year and model.

Wouldn't suggest the outlander as a tow car in that instance. Towing on EV only isn't really possible with the low power and the range would be almost negligible.

Typically when towing in the outlander you want save or charge modes on, which force the ICE to run, in order to not deplete the battery to zero because it drops so quick it sometimes is faster than the BMS can cope with.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,766 ✭✭✭✭unkel

He did say 750kg, which is peanuts, and very short distances. I guess it would be wise to further investigate if the Outlander would be suitable for his exact use patterns

Personally I would go for an early high miler Model 3 AWD LR, as it will still have a very decent range, even for towing. And if you buy well, it should have minimal depreciation

Selling my Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid 2017, Top Premium SE Spec, moving to full EV. Bought during Covid and has been an absolute pleasure to drive. Only for getting solar this year it makes sense to go full EV otherwise I would have kept her till the end. Any questions if interested PM me or my details are on the done deal ad

Did you not get a decent trade in offer form Tesla? Though the trade would like this car, but maybe not I guess.

Not buying off Tesla as they didn't honour the car I ordered, going for a 252 now instead
