Only thing to be taken from that non-event today is seeing Dan Whelan get lots of opportunities to punt.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,384 ✭✭✭cosatron

considering he had 1 punt the last 3 games. Diggs was the highest rated corner for the green bay packers all year in a game. I thought the dline and secondary were ok. bears next week. They were very poor for 3 quarters against the lions with their starters in.If Love, jacobs and watson get going, i think we will win.

Would certainly think they would at least a 50-50 chance.

However they must “ play with their hair on fire” none of these half baked tackles, penalties. Drops. I don’t want to hear a “WOW” from Larrivee while the Packers have the ball.

Must convert the third downs to a reasonable percentage and (very important) keep that little gnat contained.

Do that and a win is probable .’.’.’you already did it for 59 game minutes?

Bed well and truly shat in the second half. Nothing beyond that worth analysing, so no more to say about it.

    I was wrong, I apologize.

I said that the first good team the Packers faced in the playoff would beat them, as it happens it didn't take a good team at all! That game looked like 2 drunks in a car park, and the Bears just stayed on their feet longer.

As is obvious all year, there is a lot of talent there in that squad, but it's not being utilized. I'm not qualified to say what has to be done, but it's the same old stiff (special teams, soft gut defence) I've been seeing in recent years, and it's not being fixed. Maybe MLF is the problem, maybe it's his backroom team, but it's another backwards year for the Packers.

McManus makes his kicks and it's a comfortable win. McManus has missed a lot since coming back and they stuck with him, it's come back to bite now.

Once Chicago saw the weakness down our right they exploited it the rest of the game and picked up handy yards.

If my aunt had balls etc…

McManus is a perfect example of what I'm talking about...read somewhere last week he's less then 50 % from over 40 yard kicks this year-the game has moved on and 40 yard kicks should be gimme nowadays.

Mediocrity is being accepted, it's a dangerous mindset to allow in.

That 4th and 8 catch is up there with the 4th and 23. 4th quarter defence was terrible. Hopefully hafley gets a hc job cause the defence has being poor since parsons went down. I wouldn't give lefluer or gute an extension either. If john Harbaugh is gettable, I would go all in for him.

Haven’t seen the game yet, but doubt if there’s much difference than what went on all season.

Will comment after I’ve seen it, but MLF, RICH B, and even Gute are on shaky ground.

There is absolutely no one who should feel safe next year after that game, on or off the pitch.

McManus should never kick a ball for us again, Keisean Nixon demonstrating his absolute lack of game-IQ with the braindeas pile-on injuring Edgerrin Cooper, Love completely lacking in that clutch gene that great QBs have.

Play calling and execution both repulsive in the second half.

My biggest disappointment is in talking myself into staying up for the second half when I was up at 8:30am.

I just can’t understand how the Packers lost that game…, just can’t .

I would single out Doubs, Golden, and Love as deserving credit .

Defense collapsed with about five minutes to go after the Golden TD

Haffley and Biccassio have questions to answer for sure.

That’s based on what I’ve seen…..a fresh approach badly needed…..just hard to believe the collapse was so disasterous

Any credit Love earned in the first, he lost for me with a 3 and out, 3 and out, one first down and punt, 3 and out with negative yards for intentional grounding first four possessions in the second.

    It's a combination of factors.
If you look at the Time of Possession during each loss, 2nd half is majorly in the the other teams favour.

    my opinion:

    1) Poor execution (O-Line)
    2) Poor play calling (Playing not-to-lose instead of playing-to-win : MLF)
    3) Complacency (MLF)
    4) Defense fatigue (you can't expect the D to be out there so long in the 2nd half. Players get into a mindset of moving backwards).
    5) Special Teams disasters (MLF)

Yes…I’d agree there …remember the o-line Baktiari,Sitton,Lindlsey,Lang. Bulaga hardly ever changed for the season.

Current line hardly ever the same and Tom has surgery coming up now.

    Makes a huge difference

I would not sack Hafley. He has 2 head coaching job interviews coming already. He's done a fantastic job with the D. Yes the Packers have suffered multiple late 2nd half collapses this season, but the D can't win by itself, the Offense needs to play 3rd & 4th quarter.

But they look flat, low energy and have poor execution. Can blame players of course, but it's the HC job to get them ready.

Two major collapses of the D against the Bears doesn’t augur for his CV, as well as does a streak of five losses in a row .

The guy is good but not a Messia by a long shot.

In fairness, loads of teams had "collapses" against the bears this year, it can't always be the fault of the team they're beating. The Packers lost their best defensive player, arguably one of the best defensive players in the league of the last decade, down the stretch. As a bears fan, I hope ye fire lefleur, he's an excellent coach. I hope ye keep Jordan Love too. Somewhat overrated, competent system QB, always floats passes when it matters.

Nfc North will be an absolute dogfight next year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,453 ✭✭✭BluePlanet

Honestly I think the team plays better with Malik Willis, and I would be totally open minded to giving him a contract and a high stakes trade with Jordan Love.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,384 ✭✭✭cosatron

jordan love was the highest rated QB at the weekend. his the least of our problems. the bears brought more blitz packages in the second half and our o-line and playcalling were terrible. Our biggest mistake on defence they should've made caleb beat us from the pocket, the d-line was terrible at keeping him contained again. his lethal outside the pocket. regarding LeFluer, he seems to make the same mistakes over and over again but the players seem to like him so hopefully he will finally learn next season. Gutekunst also has to take his share of the blame, the dbs were below average in training camp and nixon is not a lockdown corner, QB's throwing his way have nearly a perfect passing rating since parson got injured.

As you know, QB rating doesn't mean anything, it's Winning that counts.
He's not a problem, he's just an overrated and overpaid QB, where we have pretty incredible depth atm. Should trade him while his value is high.

I don't agree with you so there is no point going back and over.

GB former President Robert E. Harlan died recently.

Was one of the most far thinking executives the GB board ever had…..RIP.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,271 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

GB have released #74 Elgton Jenkins…#52 Rashan Gary gone to Dallas….Kingsley Engabare in negotiation with Jets…….#2 Malik Willis to Miami

Romeo Doubs and Rasheed Walker expected to go…….Sean Rhyan extended at Center on good dosh.

    Quay Walker gone, too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,384 ✭✭✭cosatron

gary was really poor after micah went down and looked really slow. Signed a corner back from the chargers, nate hobbs is released aswell, and if rumours are to be believed we are trying to trade for Jalen Carter from the eagles which would be awesome but can't see it happening. Quay walker gone to the raiders for more money than i expected.

Romeo gone to the Patriots…..very sorry to see him go.
