It all boils down to their favourite topic - immigaration.

These people hate immigrants with certain skin complexions so much they're willing to twist themselves into knots to justify the forces of the state shooting a woman 3 times in the head because she held different views than they do.

the clip of Rubio handing Trump a private note to try and stop him talking, trump looking at it and then reads it aloud is fantastic. The face of Rubio.
    Trump is a moron.

Sure, and I assume you will use Fifa statistics on why it was actually a success when some stadiums are left with empty seats and you will point to revenue…because capitalism and that will be the metric used…those goalposts are very light.

Still waiting to hear about those discriminated minorities in South Africa though.

He is a moron with the largest military at his beck and call, that is where it goes from funny to scary.

China and lots of Asian and middle east countries are not bothered about Greenland. The main trade route is all set up with more investment in ports, nuclear icebreakers and rail links to Europe going in more and more. Saves 2 weeks and a lot cheaper than going through Suez and more safer from these pirate attacks disrupting things.

Should be great for the Asian cargo companies with permits. China to Northern Europe load up then Europe back to China, saves a month round trip.

he doesn’t want Russia as a neighbour.
    someone show him a map.

I’ve been working with this theory for a while. On Mercator maps Greenland looks like it’s nearly as large as the entire continental US. Donnie is a extremely superficial nitwit…there would be no telling him that the Mercator map is a distortion of reality.

Hell, he’d really hate it if you point out that Africa is about 2-3 times larger than Mercator usually presents.

It's good for them as well considering they are just thinking about investing in icebreakers. Might be difficult getting a permit like, so will have to keep going the long route.

Call me cynical but these MEP's are just trying to generate media attention for themselves knowing what they say is likely to be academic as soon as next Wednesday.

They are aware the US Supreme Court is due to make a decision on the legality of the tariff regime any day now. Many journalists were speculating earlier in the week that it was going to be yesterday but alas the court did not announce it - just the one determination was issued on a completely separate matter.

The court did say they will be announcing their decision on other matters this coming Wednesday. Expect fireworks if it doesn't go Donnie's way. My interest in this is particularly personal. A procurement contract I finalised for my employer prior to Christmas could be in line for a six figure saving later this year - should the tariff regime be struck down - so I've my fingers crossed.

FWIW - based on what the Justices said in hearings prior to Christmas - journalists were speculating at the time that it doesn't look promising for Donnie. We shall see soon enough.

What do you expect from a country founded on genocide and slavery by fundamentalist religious nutters.

Even after this administration is over, we cannot go back to the way things were. The USA has always been a bad actor, that displayed a friendly face. But even towards its so called friends it wielded its power to ensure we were kept weak and compliant. You only have to look at Shannon in our own country and the blowback that would have occurred if we denied them permission for their unjustified war in the middle east.

Just because things were relatively OK for us, we should not ignore the misery and suffering they caused elsewhere. The migrant crisis we have today is largely of US making. ISIS and terrorism in Europe is also of US making.

Regardless of who they return to power, we must pivot away and oppose their imperialism. Remain friendly but not compliant.

The shooter was probably using the same ‘instruction book’ that those marines used when ‘disabling’ that boat in the Caribbean that was allegedly carrying drugs and with a crew of 8 , I think , on board. There were two crew hanging on to what was left of the boat after the first strike. There were two second strike was needed to completely eliminate ‘ the lot’ in case they. Recovered and continued on their illegal business which has caused the death of thousands of Americans to date.

    So there!!!

”…more safe from those pirate attacks…” Compared to…a route that for most of it falls into the territory of an unstable nation who have no issue with bombing Ukrainian children in their homes?

Sure….Russia’s fellow travellers might have nothing to worry about sending their ships up there…but everyone else? I seem to remember China putting a lot of effort in the China-Europe rail-link….but something happened that pretty much ruined that whole plan.

One constant in the world seems to be, no matter how well a solution works..never underestimate Russia’s ability to f*ck it up. Sure…it’s just a shipping route…but give Moscow time…they’ll find a way to ruin it.

MM, the words ‘judgement’ and ‘law’ are two separate issues as are the words ‘high court’; ‘Supreme Court’, ; ‘judge, ‘ ‘solicitor’; ‘advocate’ etc, etc, etc, They are all very intertwined and a combination of of any one without the other is ‘not on ‘ / not effective

To keep it simple, a car battery and a car steering wheel are two separate issues as but there is no point in buying a car if one of them is missing

And in summary, I understand that the current administration is continually pouring over current statutes / law to see if they can be reinterpreted so as to fit administration agendas. The Relevant judges will then be asked to agree with the new interpretation or not

I agree. I think I was trying to soften my first post with the second last night. Why, I don't know, but I may have been drinking.

"We don't want Russia as a neighbour" says Trump

I mean has he heard of Alaska and the Bering straight?

    He is an idiot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,289 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Maybe it's his way of starting the process of giving Alaska away or selling it

Here is a couple of Trump's speeches. Obviously he has had a change of mind on Venezuela's oil quality.

What I cannot understand is why I think it was Vance released the video. Ya it plays to the MAGA base. However you wonder will a lot of middle America say WTF. From what I see of ICE it mainly white American males walking around armed to the teeth.wearing face coverings. These are not SWAT or other officer that may need to cover there faces. They move from one city to the next.

The officer seemed to want to escalate the situation. He could have asked her for her driving licence in the car. He could have asked her to move the car. They decide to escalate it. You have to wonder what way this will look to middle America

Most conflicts start with lies. Like Hitler and his invasion of Poland which started on a lie, actually several lies.

The reason why Trump wants Greenland is only his own ego, wanting to go down in history that he gotten "something big" the size bigger than Texas or California.

Neither Russia or China seem to be a threat in Greenland.

The US already has strong rights to station military in Greenland and can do so in the future.

They have reduced the existing base / bases in Greenland drastically.

The US also has certain rights to go after natural resources in Greenland but haven't used them/done so as accessibility is an issue.

It is totally irrelevant why she was there and what she did or/and say while she was there as long as she did nothing that broke the law apart from maybe being given the ‘ proverbial ‘ parking ticket, pushing an agent, using abusive language , etc. any government officer issued with a fire arm is ‘trained ‘ how to use it ,when to use it and the circumstances around which it might be necessary to use it

I cannot see ANYTHING that happened that justified the shooting of the woman.

    Some further thoughts

(1). If he wanted to disable her rather than kill her he could have shot her in the shoulder , for example. I assume that when he fired the last two shots that she was right in front of him and with her two hands on the steering wheel. The drivers window was fully down

    (2) he could have shot out the tyres

    (3) one video showed the shooter ‘sharing comments’ with her while she was in the car’s driver seat and with the drivers window down. He was positioned in front of her door. He then proceeded to walk towards the back of the car , went around it, then walked in front of the car and ended up at the side of the car - near the front left headlight. It was at that point that the woman , having reversed a little and drove forward and without hitting the shooter . He reached out his hand to put it against the car.
So , I wonder did she say something to him that he took exception to and he was not happy to ‘leave it at that’

kick the Americans out of their European bases as soon as the set foot on Greenland.
turn off the power and the WiFi.

From the newest video the victim comes across as a very pleasant person, how anybody would respond by pulling out a gun and opening fire is beyond me.

Scenario 1 As things stand at the moment re Greenland , the US has a military base /a military presence there. And I assume it has it designed , stocked , armed, etc , with the possibility of it being attacked /taken over by Russia or China. I understand that the Greenlanders/Denmark would have no problem in the US army expanding further there to a level that the the US would be happy with.
And because Denmark /Greenland is in NATO , if Greenland is attacked - and the attacker is on its way to attacking the US then all the other NATO members ‘ get involved’ where appropriate

Scenario 2. If the US purchases Greenland and ALL agree to the sale then scenario one still stands and especially the NATO part

Scenario 3 If the US takes Greenland by force then :-

    (a) then trade deals and all other aspects of relationships can be ‘ severely strained ‘for years and years

(b)the US can forget about help if NATO is ‘gone’ including ‘help’ from Canada which is a Hugh land mass between the US and Greenland

© Is Greenland that critical to US security? IMO the US would be better off making sure that Russia , for example, has not the means to build up its army by knobbling its economy. This is what Ukr is hoping to do

if the Democrats win the next presidency and are in control of the house and the current administration annex Greenland by force, could the incoming Democratic admin reverse that action if it finds it to be illegal , against the constitution, etc, etc.?

she 100% deserved it - following federal agents and interfering with their lawful work.

she was already breaking the law and was going to be arrested before she drove her car into the ICE agent who was 100% justified. He only drew his gun when she turned into him with wheels spinning.

all that with her wife egging her on “drive baby drive”

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,234 ✭✭✭Theboinkmaster

There’s a very easy was to avoid being shot by federal agents:

    don’t follow and harass them

    Don’t shout abuse at them

    Don’t obstruct them

    Don’t not follow lawful commands

    Don’t resist arrest

Don’t drive into them with your car

most people can do that - even if they don’t agree with what ICE agents are doing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,289 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Don't disagree with them otherwise you get murdered… this is how far Trump has dragged the US down into the gutter and still we have fcukwits cheering him on
