I just updated to Windows 11.

I'm getting an error message saying that a driver cannot load. "A security setting is detecting this is a vulnerable driver and blocking it from loading. You need to adjust your settings to load this driver."

    The driver is called: AsIO.sys

Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks!

    D.

Yes. Though it didn’t bother Windows 10, for whatever reason. I presume I can just ignore the warning and close the box each time it appears. There are tons of hits with this problem via a Google search, but no stand out solution. I’m not even sure what piece of software that driver is running. Chances are I don’t use it. This desktop is strictly for image editing, nothing else.

Just discovered that my rear USB 3.0 ports aren't working. The rear USB 2.0 ports and the four front ports (two of each) are working.

    Annoying.

Could it be connected to that driver issue?

    Thanks.

    For USB
Check your device manager for failed devices(exclamation in amber triangle).
Go to original manufacturer web site and directly download and install original drivers by your device model, see if it help

    Thanks.

There are no yellow flags under USB in Device Manager.

There is a yellow flag next to Other Devices/Unknown Device and in its Properties its location is given as, "On ASMedia USB3.1 eXtensible Host Controller"

So, might this be the problem?

    Thanks again.

    Ps.

In the box in properties it also says…….

"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

There are no compatible drivers for this device.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."

Clicking Update Driver leads me to a maze of choices.

    Thanks.
