Ref the seizure of the Russian Flagged tanker, it seems, according to CNN's latest that the Russians had small craft in the water around the tanker apparently trying to obstruct it's seizure by the U.S military but due to the U.S using copters, they were unable to stop the seizure of the tanker. It didn't say where the small craft came from so, with safety, I think they may have been from the tanker to put up a show of resistance [for Russian law of the sea legal purposes] like householders waving a stick at armed housebreakers.

Possibly doing what any U.S citizen would do when one of a bunch of masked strangers show up and try to open her car door to take her from the car, drive off to save herself only for another masked stranger to shoot her dead. It's certainly not an offence meriting a death sentence. The video from the street scene covering the occurrence from the time one masked person tried to open the car door and take her from it to the fatal shooting by another masked person as she drove by him, and the car coming to a crash stop with her dead in the drivers seat is on the internet, along with other local residents interacting with a group of other masked persons on the suburban street. It's interesting that the MAGA supporting nutcases seem totally relaxed about the ICE mob shooting dead an unarmed American woman on the streets and even claiming that 'she had it coming'.

If you want, you can take a look at the link running a video of the incident above in my post. There is no agent standing in front of the dead woman's car for her to drive it at. The shooter was standing by untouched by her car as she drove it by him.

It was only a matter of time really. Masked trigger happy nuts given carte blanche to do what they want and still you will get fcukwits handwaving it away as if it normal behaviour.

She certainly did not. She was trying to get away from armed thugs who were intent on kidnapping her. None of the armed thugs had any identification. They could have been proud boys or oath keepers or any other right wing cosplay scum.

the problem is that the mainstream more centrist parties appear determined to plough on without delivering any meaningful change their publics seem to want. It's not that the public want to vote for the wingnuts, but they eventually will if they repeatedly find the center lacking answers.

The problem is what the voting public wants and what they need are often incompatible. The centre struggles to provide palatable answers because the electorate doesn't want to hear them. So the far/hard right comes in and promises the "right" answer, and picks up votes.

I've seen this play out over and over and over again in France. Macron and his new right-of-centrist party was elected to Get Stuff Done. And as soon as he tried, the electorate were out on the streets complaining that that's not what they voted for. Polluter-pays eco tax (a Sarkozy era scheme) - scrapped at a cost of €800m ; pension reform - scrapped ; reduced prescription drug wastage - scrapped ; general budget deficit reduction - every measure is voted down.

MLP has no practical solution to any of these problems, but she taps into the same "MAGA" sentiment that got Trump into power. Farage is/was the same and Britain is paying the Brexit price for the electorate's gullibility.

If there's one thing that might put the brakes on any further rise, it's the constant stream of bad behaviour by Trump & Co. with no improvement in quality of life to show for it. But knowing that my farming neighbours are ready to sacrifice all France's agricultural export advantages (and their access to EU subsidies) because they remember how great it was before they were even born … well, I'm not convinced.
