It makes zero difference what is said. Will have no influence on what Trump does or doesn't do.

Virtue signalling is all it is.

They are giving their opinion, they cant say anything else. They should really just retire the term virtue signaling as it means absolutely nothing.

Rubio only said that their intention was to buy Greenland, so that could try and excuse Trump's statement as a "negotiation tactic".

They are not serious about buying it.

Anyway, where are the Epstein files?

possibly as the likes of Farage align with Israel too. The current EU leadership position on Israel being allowed to kill children has discredited the whole organization. When compared to its position on Ukraine and now no condemnation of events in Caracas the EU is close to being irrelevant

Look unless trump is mistaking Greenland for a 13 year old girl then I think Greenland is safe enough!

Another very normal rant from a stable person who's definitely not demented.

The only country to ever invoke Article 5 of NATO, was the US and the other members came to their assistance at that time.

I doubt this fcuker knows that mind.

There really is little or no merit in either listening to or reading what he says when it comes to numbers*.

He was a real estate salesman and bullshitting with figures and exagerating is all they know. He seems to have carried that over into his current job.

Any figure he quotes should be assumed to be utter BS until proven otherwise.

*or anything else, but specifically numbers.

Farage is an unknown quantity for the next UK general because that election is still a few years away, assuming an earlier one isn't called. I've not seen any particular strategy from Labour on how to arrest Reform's rise in the polls or Labour's slump. It's like they just think something might come along in the next three years to soften Reform's cough. Though it may, it also may not.

The British and French electorates have rejected Farage and Le Pen several times before, but the problem is that the mainstream more centrist parties appear determined to plough on without delivering any meaningful change their publics seem to want. It's not that the public want to vote for the wingnuts, but they eventually will if they repeatedly find the center lacking answers.

It's a lesson that never seems to get learned and tip Europe heavily to the right in the next wave of national elections.

Ah yes, the famous ‘Noble’ Peace Prize 🥴 Might want to retake that test

If he starts pissing off the Russians with the seizure of this ship, it'll probably lead to his downfall alot quicker than relying on the American people.

We'll have to start cheering for the Russians then! 😂😂 🤦

    **** sake, it’s Nobel…NOBEL!!!!!!!

Give him the Noble Peace Prize, he deserves that at least…

Reading that, it’s clear as ever, America is being run by a special needs moron.

In short, in the vast majority of countries and districts, to endorse Trump or to be endorsed by Trump is electoral suicide/death.

It'll be interesting in the extreme if Trump & Co, incl his new friends in Venezuela's Govt, cut off oil being exported from Venezuela in tankers for countries vying with the U.S for other earth sourced products. China is reportedly one of the countries where the oil exports were headed from Trump's hemisphere.

EDIT: Ms Leavitt was just on saying the U.S will try to buy Greenland to deny it to China and Russia as it's not in their hemisphere.

Going geo-politics for a moment, Russia could respond in showing annoyance to the U.S and U.K cooperation seizure of the Russian flagged tanker by repeating its denial of peace for Ukraine [no NATO troops] in the proposed U.K et al peace force there. Trump has his hands full with Venezuela at the moment while talking [rumouring] of another land-grab in "his" hemisphere. Both of the other powers might wag the dog by moving naval forces around in the Arctic.

There is an IgNobel prize: check it out 😁

From to-day's Guardian: When questioned on whether Trump is still committed to Nato and the article 5 provision of the alliance’s members coming to each other’s defence – Leavitt repeats Trump’s message on Nato from earlier today that “we will always be there for Nato even if they are not there for us”.

    What an appalling B*tch!

If Trump invades Greenland should the other NATO members invoke Article 5? That should get their knickers in a twist!

Politicians can't win can they, criticised for saying something, criticised for saying nothing.

There's very little the Irish state can do on any global matter if force is deployed in fairness.

I feel like during WW2 have a fair few posters who would have downplayed everything that Hitler was doing... This is the tyrant you and others favoured and he's incredibly dangerous.

Proof the U.S economy is at risk…. don't mention the one person who Oz's dietary ideas might help.

During a White House press briefing yesterday, Mehmet Oz stated that Americans should put off retirement in order to boost the GDP. Oz stated, "Just work one year longer."

Oz was speaking at a Trump administration press conference addressing new dietary guidelines.

According to PBS, the new guidelines suggest “more whole foods and protein, fewer highly processed foods and less added sugar,” and note “that Americans should choose whole-food sources of saturated fat — such as meat, whole-fat dairy or avocados — while continuing to limit saturated fat consumption to no more than 10% of daily calories. The guidance says ‘other options can include butter or beef tallow,’ despite previous recommendations to avoid those fats.”

Oz told reporters, “If we’re able to get the average American, who today retires on average, at age 61, get them just to work one year longer because they feel so vital, so strong, so bullish about their future — because they’re feeding their bodies nutrients that are essential to their high functioning productivity — we will increase the overall GDP of our nation by trillions of dollars.”

“So we will reduce health care expenses at the same time we jazz up the U.S. economy with trillions of dollars created by the productivity of American workers,” he added.

US approach to Greenland appears to be we need to steal it before China or Russia does. It’s such disingenuous hypocritical nonsense. Also they’re completely bullying Venezuela and stealing their oil. I read a comment earlier that Europe is finally seeing how America has treated other countries before and it’s hard to disagree. They’re a shower of bully bleeps.

If imagine there will economic sanctions, much like what happened to Russia.

What even is the public vibe in America on this? We only hear from his base and petrified followers, but had there been any input from the public?

ICE just murdered a woman in her car. The video is on blue sky (won’t let me post) , she was driving away and an ICE agent ran up to the window and shot her three times in the face. The White House said the dead woman had commited an act of domestic terrorism. This murder might spark a reaction, it is quite a chilling video.

two points re the US ‘taking over /buying ‘ Greenland :-

    (1) Trump ‘ started off ‘ with his Venezuelan project concentrating on it being a source of drugs and he began shooting boats/ ships out ofthe water and stopping their to the US ‘ and killing US citizens. He then did the proverbial U turn/ change of tact/ call it what you will and his involvement pivoted to it ALL being exclusively about oul and getting complete control of the industry and initially getting back the oil which Venezuela ‘STOLE ‘ from the US

So , if the Greenlanders were apprehensive about Trump ‘ getting more involved ‘ in Greenland I’d say that they would be MORE THAN EXTREMELY APPREHENSIVE NOW to put it mildly - after seeing what he ‘plans’ for Venezuela

    (2) THE Trump objective of Having ‘ control ‘ of things’ in the Western Hemisphere both for economic reasons and security reasons - re being attacked by Russia or/and China. Would , ideally , include from Panama right up to Greenland and Canada.
BUT, BUT, BUT he has already got a group of allies , ie the EU; a very supportive ready made structure to deal with security ie NATO and a number of not insignificant soverign states that are eaqually supportive and likeminded as is the EU eg a pay, South Korea, Australia Ukraine, New Zealand, Japan AND HE HAS PIS-SED and CONTINUES TO PIS- ON THEM

The relationship , in places, between the US and the above allies might not be ideal but can be improved through negotiation

Does he not realise that the US has got eyes, currently throughout the world

It is very grim, the ice agent should be in jail immediately. I expect Trump to try to turn him into Warrior Christ like figure.
Poor woman gunned down, ICE agent casually walking away, under zero threat. They are hiring trigger happy psychopaths.

I fail to understand why the US went after that ship no matter how far away it was from the US. It had plenty of reasons to call off the chase - over in Errope now and that is their ‘ responsibility’

It’s arrest- against Putin’s specific wishes were ignored by Trump. It is , in reality, the first DIRECT MILITARY CONFRONTATION between the US and Russia since Russia’s involvement in a annexing part of Georgia if not away before that

.Putin’s response will be very interesting

I wonder if it is a ply by the US to let on to the world that Trump is not afraid of Putin - wink wink- that he is supporting Ukr by upsetting the main Russian economic lifeline - oil and the transportation of same/ confiscation shadow tankers. The action is only a drop in the ocean- nabbing one Russian reg ship so Putin will not be too upset

Having said the above and if Putin reads it differently and if The US knab a few Such tankers then things could get nasty to say the least
