    Hi all,

An engine light appeared on the wife’s Nissan Micra 2019 (70,000 km). I’ve just been told it could be one of the above but not sure which. Price for the lambda sensor €275 or catalytic converter €1250. They’ve suggested to try the sensor first which would be ideal but not if the light comes on again in a few days and I need a new catalytic converter! I have no idea really, are these common faults on a ca of this age?

    Thanks!

Well the very first port of call is to get the diagnostic codes read to see what's actually wrong. Any reputable mechanic would be able to pinpoint what's actually wrong with the car.

I was told the diagnostics pointed to either the lambda sensor or the Catalytic converter but they couldn’t confirm which. This is Atlas however.

Bring it to an actual mechanic. Or better yet if you are in Dublin, try Auto Exhaust
