True. I just don't think this was it.

    "Its up to congress"

"we're going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women"

"peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard".

Hes not going to say "I know most of you are ape-ish cretins who havent two brain cells to rub together so please don't storm the building wearing cavemen costumes jumping over barriers at security pointing loaded weapons at you".

At nopoint did he call for violence. People now claiming he incited a riot are wrong. People have the right to free speech and assembly.

”We fight. We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”

    You were saying there?

Given that it's Jan 6th, and given the excuses being trotted out by some on Trump's role that day, here is the full video of Smith's testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. IT's over 8 hours, be warned, but it has so much detail of Smith's very comphrensive case against Trump. Devastating stuff.

he told them they had to fight like hell or they wouldn’t have a country to fight for, are MAGA still pretending Trump had nothing to do with the attack on the capital when he’d been whipping up his base for a month

He'd been inciting for weeks prior as mentioned above. this wasn't the first event where he'd used that material - it was an hour or so rehash of everything he'd been on about since the day after the election.

Fight, fight, fight. But, peacefully. How does that work again? Did he go down their and lead them all in a chorus of Kumbaya?

And, remind me - the ones who were convicted of serious crimes, seditious conspiracy, etc. like Tarrio and Rhodes, weren't they the ones he said to stand back and stand by?

Lad, the dogs in the street know he incited the riot as he'd lost all his legal challenges. all of them.

He had no other choice, this was the 'plan' Eastman (now disbarred, #ETTD) came up with that the other WH council told him to get a 'good f*cking lawyer.'

All in the Jan 6 committee presentations:

Life is life, fight for it - Mother Teresa

You either get tired fighting for peace or you die - John Lennon

This country is worth fighting for - Hillary Clinton

Fight against the forces of injustice, not against each other - Martin Luther King

Let every nation know… that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty. This is our fight - JFK

The fight for opportunity and equality is never finished. It is a fight that requires all of us to participate - Barack Obama

The only fight worth fighting is the fight for truth and nonviolence - Ghandi

I think this trump fella is gaining popularity

    Where could you start ?

Not that is not evident in what you choose to post on here as well as what you choose not too, but at least you could have the honesty to admit that when there is something that is indefensible by this present U.S. administration you avoid it like a plague, yet when you believe there is even the slightest chance of defending their actions, lo and behold there you are.

Thing must be getting desperate in MAGA when the best that can be managed when it comes to hills to die on is the digging up of a 37 year old video from that comedy channel Fox News attempting to justify a war crime and the robbing of another states assets.

Btw, I did not bring up Biden. You did.

ladies and gentlemen, I give you the biggest red herring ever.

None of the people you quoted are election deniers, none. And Donald Trump can’t hold a candle to the people you’ve quoted either, nor did they say those quotes to an angry mob outside the capital.

That’s a sick attempt at justifying what Trump did. Shame on you.

    His polls show otherwise:

With who exactly? The poorly educated, clearly. But outside of that, I don't see it.

Or because of idiots who believe the election 'was stolen'.

Well if the US does indeed invade and in imperialist fashion take over Greenland then the EU and Europe in general have to be done with the US. IMHO even if they don't invade Greenland I really hope behind the scenes European leaders are already moving on from the US as an ally as really its quite clear at this point already they cannot be trusted to put it mildly. It will take us a long time to disentangle ourselves from the US particularly militarily but we need to.

No it's far worse then that from today's speech. I'll check for a link later if nobody has posted.

anyone hear Steve Millar interview on CNN……must say very level headed/practical views of his country’s role in the world

My source is a well referenced book. Yours is a puff piece. Just google and watch him illegally moving balls any way he can. By elite standards, he has always had a poor swing with way too much swaying.

Is the speech which he made a weird sound and looked like he glitched ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,215 ✭✭✭Ardillaun

From DeChambeau down, golfers are more than willing to lie for Trump. What a bunch of lowlifes. Don’t they have enough money already? Poor old DeChambeau is a true believer and may deserve a fool’s pardon.

I've made reference to the prescience of 2000ad and their Bob Booth character.
I am starting to fear that John Wagner may be a prophet on a par with Rhe Simpsons writers 😉
A panel from Dredd Origins, 1st published in 2006 but "Bad Bob Booth" has been around as a character far longer, since the Cursed Earth arc of the 80s.

Anyway, someone posted the 1st panel below on Reddit and it is worth a look.
    Especially after Trump's ramblings today.

And a 2000ad cover from Jan 2007 retouched in 2025 with Wagner leaning fully into it 😉

I don't think it matters what they do. Europe needs to disentangle from the US regardless. What we're seeing now is the naked ambition but the US was always this. It just imposed it on poor undeveloped nations.

Europe is the only hope for this world. Russia is evil, China swallows up the world like a loan shark and the US is the imperialist egotistical nightmare thats stepped it up a notch. Anyone in Europe who is stupid enough to think that the EU should be disbanded needs to give their head a wobble or fcyk off to the US or Russia. There is no future for any nation within Europe, outside of Europe. The UK better get back in the tent quick too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,901 ✭✭✭threeball

The US is not in as great a shape to take Greenland as Hogsbreath and Dotard think. Europe has 5 times more artic ready troops, 10 times more Artic proven vehicles and the best Artic trained elite forces in the world. The US would literally need to carpet bomb Greenland from top to bottom to have any chance there in a conflict. Once they put boots on the ground they'd be taking casualties that no US admin could survive.

Their logistics aren't worth a toss in -40C. Not to mention the opportunity China would see to hurt the US financially. China want to see the end of the US reserve currency and this would prevent a golden opportunity.

Hitler never directly called for Jews to be killed at his rallies. I suppose he was just misunderstood too.

If Trump was concerned about security in Greenland, then he would have talks under the NATO umbrella of improving it. This is simply another mineral resource grab. Nineteenth century colonialism.

An interesting point made today was that, if Machado had refused the Nobel Peace Prize, she would possibly be President of Venezuela today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,657 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

The Hitler comparisons are becoming more and more apt... He's really pushing the line of invading Greenland. Previously we had posters claiming he wasn't being serious about that...
