    is this show a little overly earnest, like does anyone really talk about their feelings as much a AVA and and Debra do at the end of ep 301…?

    also the bit where everyone laughing at Debras jokes was a bit overdone.

    thanks for introducing me to Brandi Carlile's The Story. I thought she was some 80's singer…

    i think its a great tv show about showbusiness and gen z writer trying to work with a comedian from the 80,s

    there,s no cliches its not a standard sitcom about work or a family workplace comedy .Every actor in it is talented and has their own point of view

    Season 4 is absolutely solid in terms of quality. I'm three episodes in and there are plenty of laugh out loud moments as well as a strong storyline. Delighted it's back.

    Totally agree it has been top notch. jean Smart is brilliant as usual.

    But Hannah in particular has really stepped up performance wise in this season imo.

    Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder both took home Emmys last night, for comedy lead & supporting actresses respectively.

    (I started this thread back in 2021, why haven't I kept watching? Silly.)

    Season 5 has been absolutely terrific, episode 9 was a cracker.

    Laurie Metcalf back! And serious cameos.

    Only one more episode to go!

    Megan Stalter in particularly good form and Robby Hoffman stealing any scene she is in. I don't want it to end but it's refreshing for a show to go out when it is at the top of its game.

    Season 5 episode 10.

    Absolutely terrific. It's rare a tv show nails it's finale but they did imo.

    I am gutted it is finished but good to go out on top very few shows do that!
