Like that VW crowd in Kerry. I heard a lot of complaints from people on here about Roland's garages in south east alright

Bolands would be pretty notorious in terms of pricing in the South East. They now own a serious number of dealerships in the area which isn’t helpful in terms of any perceived competition in the market. I’d say the opposite of Divanes VW in Castleisland, often found to be cheapest in the country for a new VW. Small family business and been there a long time with a good reputation.

I have a 241 Ioniq 5 . Very happy with it, but one feature I would like from the later models is the rear wiper. Is there any option to have one of these retro fitted to a pre rear wiper model?

    Thanks.

Is it possible to turn on the climate control using blue link, if the car is plugged in?

someone posted about this recently if you go back and search you should find it. Don’t know how these came without a wiper. It seem to be awful for attracting dirt given the design. Thankfully they put a wiper on the facelift.

Now if only Hyundai could get rid of that stupidly large key or put the keyblade into the key

i am going to take Hyundai’s side on this. I have a car without the wiper and never looked for it. It really is needless. If you want to see behind you that bad you can always turn on the rear camera but you have enough visibility with the side mirrors

Most vans and absolutely all trucks don’t have a rearviewmirror let alone wiper and they all function ok on the roads.

I do totally agree about the key tho

We don't have wiper and it annoys me greatly. Yes I can use side mirrors; you get by without it, but safer with it.

Another annoyance: Tesla can make frequent updates to software on older models but Hyundai can manage 1 or 2 rather basic updates a year and I don't know that they're updating the '22 models much anymore. I guess it's not in-house software.

I like the car, but this is a big issue.

Hyundai have obviously decided it is needed, or perhaps are reacting to customer demand.

It is not a major issue for me, my previous car did not have one either. But, it would be handy to have a wiper to clean the rear window which seems to get dirty quite quickly (at least for me) at this time of year

Pity they don't apply the same attention to customer feedback concerning their ICCU modules.

I bought a new 251 from Bolands Waterford. 6000 euro less cost to change than Lyngs in KIlkenny quoted me. You win some you lose some

The missus had her NCT today, failed on headlights. Never gets flashed, lights seem well setup. Ioniq 5 Executive.

What do most of you leave the manual light height adjustment at? (If applicable on your model?)

I had the NCT before Christmas, it passed no problem.

When I have the lights set the highest level I do get flashed but I normally keep my lights to the lowest setting.

Thanks, yea I don't think she was aware you could adjust the lights. They were one click down from highest setting when I checked this evening, never seemed to blind anyone.

It's a PIA having to go back for a re-test.

I have a 221 Ioniq 5. I had a slide on black ice today with the passanger side wheels hitting the roadside kerb quite hard. The front passanger side wheel is slightly misaligned. The rear passanger side wheel is well misaligned, but I can see the rear driver side wheel is also misaligned. I expect a large repair bill is forthcoming.

Apologies for this if it is a ridiculous query, anyone know if I get this seen to by an independent garage could I impact/ void the remainder of my original warranty (OE parts needed to be insited within the repair?)? Does it sound like something I should drop the car back to the main dealer for repair?

Anyone have similar repaired with an idea of the cost?

That could just be tracking/ or wheel alignment, these are adjustable and can be done by any mechanic, even some tyre fitters can do it.

Now it maybe possible that that tracking rod is damaged and needs replaced so you may have to leave your car in overnight for parts.

So I would go to an independent garage first, they should be able to tell pretty easily what is involved, Suspension parts are relatively inexpensive to replace.

The car shouldn't fail by having the lights on the highest setting though, there maybe alignment issues.

Any fast-fit tyre/exhaust centre or mechanic should be able to check your alignment, there are adjustments they can make under the bonnet, I would have them check just to be sure.

Hyundai Wexford will have a look before re-test, car has to go in yet again for another problem. At least warranty pays for everything so far..

    Thank you denismc.

A 221 is out of general warranty isn't it? Or was it a 5yr bumper to bumper warranty?

Any suggestion for a 10m cable or does it matter?

Anyone know if Irish models from '22 or '23 are vulnerable to gameboy issue? I don't think our car has the proximity unlock feature or open by pressing handle.

I asked Hyundai and they didn't seem to care one way or the other. Response was roughly: "We are aware of reports from uk… but no confirmed cases reported in Irish models. Whatever"

I bought a V2L for my car from these guys, they seem to be well made. There customer support is pretty good also, so send them an email if you're not sure what you need

Has anyone with the new model managed to get the digital key to work or is it even available in Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,286 ✭✭✭shanec1928

don’t think it’s supported on facelift Ioniq 5. Which is a pity anything to get rid of that ridiculously large key

I have it working on my Ioniq 6. Are you using Apple or Android?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,489 ✭✭✭Guffy

Thanks, purchased yesterday, hopefully will be here middle of the week. Garden is destroyed with the rain and the tyres 🙈

Seems strange that the digital key is available on the Ioniq 6 but not the 5, I wonder is it restricted to certain trims or maybe on the pro bluelink subscription.

Either way I don't think it will work with my cheap Chinese phone, maybe time for a new phone🤔
