Very poor, and a horrid watch. Feels like trying to not get beaten is incredibly cowardly from Slot. He has some incredible attacking talent in his hands and serves up this. Whether this is his transition season catching up or not, we are absolutely rotten to watch and that's down to him.

Hate saying it but I'm really losing faith in Slot. In 4th but Miles behind the top 2.

Some of the entitled nonsense being posted on this thread is utterly embarrassing.

A nil-nil at home. People looking for the manager to be sacked. **** hell.

    Dreadful.

How many players have actually played well this season? Szoboslai for much of it, Ekitike to a point, Chiesa for when he was allowed.

This has to stop, Slot needs to go.

I think throwing around words like “entitled” is what is really embarrassing here.

that’s the league champions you were watching tonight, just in case you had forgotten.

I think a few people are more interested in looking like the biggest Liverpool super fan than actually seeing what is being put in front of them.

One (95th minute penalty) win and 3 draws against the newly promoted sides so far. 2 of the draws at home.

That was one of the worst performances of the season and thats saying something.

There does not seem to be even a basic system in place and thats all down to Slot.

His substitutions were just bizzare, taking off Wirtz for one trick pony Gakpo was bad enough but then he brings on youn Rio to literally play in the same position as Gakpo who just ended up getting in eachothers way.

Its like hey lets just throw on attacking players and hope for the best.

The last 30 seconds summed that game up, Ekitike who tried his best with little to no service was wide on the right swinging the ball in but if slot kept Frimpong on [who was our biggest threat all night] it would be him crossing it in for Ekitike but Eki was forced wide right to accomodate Rio and Gakpo.

Just a big mess of a system and thats fully on Slot who seems utterly clueless right now.

19 "nil-nil at home" would see a team relegated

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,535 ✭✭✭brevity

Yea. It’s becoming really toxic and entitled.

A summer of huge change and turmoil on the back of winning the league and people whining.

Really disappointing to be honest. The sooner the season ends the better. People are behaving like children.

Criticism is fine obviously but they idea that he is destroying the club baffles me to behold honest

it is the champions in isolation but there have been substantial changes this season. On top of a number of injuries. It was hardly going to gel instantly

Not saying Slot needs to go but something has to change and fast.

This football is boring really really boring but to boot it is also really really ineffectual.

It does not use at all the substantial talents we have in the club , and we know the style of football that delivered several seasons of success , and many of those players are still there.

Imagine what these people were like when Houllier and Benitez were in charge?

I think I'll take a break from this thread for the foreseeable.

  • Administrators Posts: 56,565 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Not gel instantly? This is an insane take.

It’s January and we are no better than we were in August.

  • Administrators Posts: 56,565 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Did Houlier or Benitez take a title winning team, spend hundreds of millions of euro and go massively backwards?

How bad do we need to be before you stop defending this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,242 ✭✭✭Enzokk

We have not been great in attacking areas today, but to somehow discount how well the opposition played is not right either. They had almost no chances to score and came for the draw, which they got. Under Klopp we had 19 0-0 draws, you sometimes get them. The fact it has been a while since we had one makes it seem worse but lets not get beer goggles and nostalgic for a past that had these same performances.

So, you're saying we're unbeaten in those games 😅.

Fear of losing has taken over, Slot is walking us backwards here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,370 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

It's not like we were playing well earlier in the season, fans were raising the same concerns during the winning run back then.

It's now January and to me there is *no* sign of an improving/gelling team, I want Slot to turn it around and I still hope I'm wrong but I don't see it happening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,655 ✭✭✭The Rooster

Yep. We’ve won 2 leagues in 30 years and lads wants the man who won one of them sacked because he’s not going to win 2 out of 2. There’s a heap of them and their combined football knowledge is zero. Zero.

We’re going to finish top 4. We might have a good run in the CL. We’re going to challenge for the league next year. Will probably win it, but not certain. I am certain Slot will not be sacked, and the numbskulls can roar and shout about FSG.

I was most disappointed with Dom today. He needs to take more responsibilty and drive the team forward more. He’s an absolute class player though and will bounce back. The brightest spark was the Bradley-Frimpong combo, a lot of ‘almost’ moments, but hopefully we see that again at the weekend. But Leeds defended excellently and deserved their point.

Pretending it is one game in isolation isnt helpful eith

Leeds haven't kept a clean sheet since August, they tried hard to defend in other games too but they're a poor team and the other opponents all knew it and scored goals.

We have a real problem breaking down teams, in particular teams that play 5 at the back/just play 10 behind the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,409 ✭✭✭✭8-10

Benitez, Rodgers and Klopp, our 3 most recent managers, all had their worst league finishes in the season directly following their best league finish

Slot doing the same shouldn't be a shocker

Add in our inability to make use of set-pieces and it's pretty damning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,535 ✭✭✭brevity

baring a miracle in the cl the season is a disaster. I don’t think anyone can argue with that. It’s been hugely disappointing, I just think that sacking Slot isn’t the answer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,229 ✭✭✭riddles

Rio could have been brought in earlier. Macca and Gakpo coming on urrggghh. Playing at a snails pace against a team that wants you to do that. Three balls across the six yard box no one doing anything other than ball watching.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,504 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    A waste of time.

I've lost count of the amount of 2nd halves where we've been toothless. So easily nullified because it's so slow and predictable.

I've lost patience with whatever he's trying to do. It just isn't how I think Liverpool should be playing football - particularly at Anfield. No speed, no risk, no purpose. Just empty, slow, lethargic possession.

  • Administrators Posts: 56,565 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

It is not because he’s not going to win 2 from 2 and you know it.

The fact you’re having to resort to this level of nonsense surely sets off alarm bells in your head?

Or are you that detached from the reality of what you are seeing, that you really believe that defending this makes you some sort of football genius / Liverpool super fan smarter than the rest of us concerned at how bad we are with no signs of improvement?

How bad do we need to be before you get concerned? Or is it that you think if you defend Slot on boards.ie we’ll get better as a result?

  • Administrators Posts: 56,565 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

different context. There’s no point trying to compare.

Missed Salah, a bit of magic.

The narrative that this is NOT how Slot wants us to play is getting old, if it's not him, then who is responsible.
