Remote 2 channel heating controller

    Hi

I'm not even sure such a thing exists but I would love to replace my 2 channel heating and hot water controller with one that I can switch on remotely via an app or whatever to simply turn it on and off. I don't need or want any of the other smart stuff. Ideally it would be a straight swap for the controller that's already there.

Has anyone any ideas or pointers? All I can find online is smart systems.

    Tks.

4kwp South East facing PV System. 5.3kwh Weco battery. South Dublin City.

It's unlikely that you'll get a direct replacement so some wiring will be necessary. It'll be mains voltage.

    Maybe a dual chanel hive.

I have a wiser set, you can use it remotely to turn off abd on stuff. You do get the schedule etc but you don't have to use it if you don't want to.

You need a two channel controller you just needed to make sure it was wired correctly

I think I had a similar goal recently, I wanted just remote on and off on my heating without replacing the whole controller or doing any wiring.

What worked for me was the SwitchBot Hub and SwitchBot Smart Switch. I bought them on Amazon.

I didn’t change any of the heating wiring or controller, I literally stuck the Smart Switch beside the physical button on my existing controller. The hub is nearby, then I use the SwitchBot app to trigger it remotely, sometimes from the sofa 😂 it has a logs feature so you can see if it worked and what time you pressed it.

It’s basically like having a robot finger push the button for you via the app. No electrician, no complicated setup, and no full smart heating system required.
