I just turned on TV its 7PM I I see on Virgin Media One the classic film Titanic was on for the last 8 hours (ok exaggeration a bit, but its a long ol film all the same) due to finish 7.30pm.

I seem to recall when i saw it , it was a bit probably unsuitable for the younger viewers with a couple of F words at the beginning of the film and of course the 'paint me as one of your french nudes scene' and a few scenes of violence and dead bodies floating everywhere . I am just wondering, seeing as its been shown all afternoon was it some kind of edited/censored version Virgin Media one showed today or what's the score?

I stuck it on to watch from about half way through and the sound was up and down - perfect for some scenes then you had to turn it up very loud for the scene directly after. Maybe they were turning it down when someone said something dodgy. Maybe it was my tv. Either way, I couldn't stick it.

On a side note, Romancing the Stone was on RTE 1 and the pre-watershed language coming out of Danny Devito's character was something else. I don't think people care any more.

It's got a 12A rating, pretty sure that's fine before the watershed

I saw it in the cinema when I was 12 with my parents. I've seen it a few times since, I don't remember any f-bombs. Regarding nudity, RTE used to show Baywatch at 5pm on Saturdays and, aside from a split second view of a female nipple, I didn't see anything in Titanic I hadn't seen in Baywatch already.

What exactly are you outraged about?

Haha - I dont remember saying I was outraged.

The version of Titanic film I saw was a couple of years back , Thoroughly enjoyed it although it seemed to go on for ages - all night nearly… - started after the watershed , think it was on Ch4 9pm/10pm F-bombs at the beginning from the crew searching the ship and lots of Sh!t bombs and no there was more than a nipple shown by rose , full nudity when leonardo was painting her like a french lady 😁

I guess there were different versions made then

Nowadays, sh1t isn't really a bad word. Not as bad as the F word. The Bad F word. Not Feck. The one thats worse than feck. It gets uttered once or twice, but it's hardly comparable to something like Die Hard or a Tarantino movie where the F word is used as some sort of punctuation.

If you mean full frontal nudity of Rose, thats not been in any of the versions Ive seen. I'm sure I would have remembered ;-)

TV Channels often edit out ever so slightly risque scenes. They also run an ad break during any scene they dont want to show. So it could well have been Rose saying "I want you to paint me like one of your French girls"… followed immediately by an ad break, followed by …"The next morning…"

The official runtime of Titanic is 3 hours 15 minutes, so yes its long but no, it doesn't go on all night. I'm sure the Sunday Game goes on longer.
