Haven't seen any evidence of a strike yet. Reports that there was a fire at a warehouse, which Trump may be claiming as a strike.

Absolutely mental situation, where there's a 50/50 chance the President is making dementia addled claims to have started a war.

Quite remarkable that America and POTUS welcome the two leaders accused by the ICC of committing war crimes.

I would have thought that the Russian military would be kind of interested in drones that could get that close to the bosses house - perhaps even collecting a few of them to have a look at.

Putin looks dumb for trying this one on - but given that the only person he needed to believe it is even dumber maybe it's not so stupid.

Zelensky played the meeting exactly right and Putin and Trumps reactions illustrate that perfectly. As was pointed out about the first White House bullying of Zelensky the whole world now knows that Putin is entirely focussed on continuing the war, using Trump as his dupe. Zelensky will continue to show up these lads for what they are.

Matt Gaetz, former Trump AG pick, had sex with underage girl while in Congress, House Ethics report says.

A bit more than that, according to BBC

    A winding money trail

Sex, drugs, and a passport application

    Accusations of obstruction

Serious amount of artists pulling out of performing now too.

I’m sure he will somehow blame Biden on that too.

No wonder he chose not to return to Congress. He knew what he did

Yet another disgraceful decision. Removing plaques commemorating Black US soldiers of WW2 from a military cemetery in the Netherlands. Many complaints at this decision on the visitors book. 1 million Black soldiers served in the US military in WW2. Dutch officials also angry.

How to say you have zero clue about how Irish politics works without actually saying the words.

2009 just after the crash, I had already left the country for work, but my mother got a job doing market research with MRBI or one of them, driving around the parish asking people which adverts they liked and who will win the All Ireland, and slipped in there was "Who will you vote for in the next election?". Despite about 90% of the people she'd talked to openly admitting, even agreeing that FF had caused the problems, the answer to that last question in 99.9% of cases was "Sure, we always vote FF in elections".

Considering the modern Sinn Fein party(Post Civil War split) has been around for 100 years and never been in power, maybe Bannon's new party can expect to be in power sometime in the 26th Century?

It's almost funny peculiar that today one of the internet news sites decided to post an item to the effect that Lukashenko had a disagreement with Putin and told him Belarus was staying an independent nation and would not be part of a union with Russia, said disagreement being not recent while today as well a TV news item ran a story of Russia working with Belarus in military exercises with Russia deploying mobile missile launch vehicles close to their border, said missiles reportedly being capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

The result is one does not know what is going on in Putin's head the day after he alleged that one of his personal residences was targeted by multiple Ukraine drones and his own people then said they did not have to prove there was such an attack, that all the drones had been destroyed by Russian air defence, leaving one to "suppose" there would be no drone debris to prove there had been an attack at all. Maybe Trump didn't believe what Putin told him in the two calls between them about the alleged attack, maybe he [and others in his Admin team] doubt's Putin's word now and that is why he didn't confront Zelenskyy at their meeting yesterday.

I'm just reaching out and putting together a possible real-time version of what is happening in Putin's world now, it's not what he wants the world and Trump to believe.

Smaller, newer parties than SF have gone into Government and had a say in policy:

Clann na Poblachta (with Sean MacBride and Dr Noel Browne)

    Progressive Democrats

I hope Putin doesn't pull a Kissinger by stubbornly clinging on to life for another 30 years. Same for Trump for that matter.

    I don't think they'll manage that, differing health/life prospects.

I’m going to write that paragraph off to a night of new years run-up revelry… but interestingly, Taiwan is about the one place that Trump seems to view with a determination to protect. His new National Security Strategy a couple of weeks ago talks about focusing away from Europe, doesn’t even mention North Korea… but does say that the US needs to “maintain military overmatch” over China, and he also just sold $20bn of weapons to Taiwan, which the Chinese are very miffed about. Europe hasn’t sold any major weapons to Taiwan in thirty years, apparently the Chinese have some influence there.

Considering the number of things thatTrump has done/ said and how they have ‘impacted’ negatively on millions - including overseas individuals- and ‘walked on their toes’ it is very surprising that he is still alive and that there has not more potshots taken

Presidents and other individuals in senior positions have been assassinated for MUCH, MUCH, MUCH less

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 4,231 ✭✭✭Field east

Putin’s allegation - does not matter whether it is true or not- just adds to the ‘mix’ Eg so as to confuse things,; as a result things have to be reviewed, ; that’s an escalation so I will respond accordingly; another delaying tactic.

I would treat all of Putin’s and his mouth pieces utterances as just sentences that may be 100%, 100% false or somewhere in between depending on what his objective is . bUT only he knows what those objectives are.
PS I would not put it apart RU that it was behind the blackout in the Channel tunnel - anything to occupy the locals in a negative way, disrupt an economy, etc, etc, etc, etc.

U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands Joe Popolo seemed to support the removal of the displays. “The signs at Margraten are not intended to promote an agenda that criticizes America,” he wrote on social media following a visit to the cemetery after the controversy had erupted.

What the fuck is that supposed to even mean?

Below is an example of the type of plaque that's being removed.

There already is a national party in Ireland, and an assortment of melts like Barrett, Blighe, Dwyer etc. If he's pouring money into those idiots then I wouldn't be too worried. Barrett and friends tried to stage a photo op at St Patricks Cathedral a month or 2 back and got their asses handed to them
