    Tomorrow

    3pm Edinburgh v Glasgow Prem 2 URC.TV

    5:30pm Connacht v Ulster TG4 Prem 1 URC.TV

Pretty messy Scarlets-Ospreys game. Ospreys with the 5-1 victory in the end.

Sparse crowd. Welsh rugby is seriously in trouble.

Cardiff had 12125 (max 12500) in the Arms Park for an entertaining 22-19 win over Dragons

I wonder since Ospreys moved from stadium in Swansea to club ground has their supporter base diminished? Also rumours re their culling by WRU will not have helped.

Scarlets have made a poor start to the season despite their win at Cardiff so that is probably a factor in crowd size.

This fixture used to attract some 15,000.

Once a region is culled there will be obviously be less derby matches and this must be a concern for WRU.

You can see why Graham wasn’t a lion today, only thinking of himself and not the team…

Both matches had around 12,000, not woeful but yes you'd expect them to be gettjng 15k.

Really don't like people getting penalties like that one Stewart just got. He didn't need to jump to take that overthrown lineout, never mind tucking his legs up in the jump. He only did it cause he saw Carty coming and knew he was about to get tackled. Seems ridiculous that Carty gets penalised when Stewart effectively jumped into the tackle.

Thats very soft defending from ulster 11

Jaysus Stockdale, two poor errors in a row putting that kick straight out and then not even trying to tackle Tracey aside from a lazy arm. So poor.

Points on the board, but very scrappy game so far.

You wonder how players like Crean ever made it as a professional prop….

Connacht look like they have a few tries in them here, tbh. First one was very well worked.

He kicks that. Don't think its a knock on

    I'm loving Eoghan Cross.

His withering lack of tolerance for any guff from mouthy players is a joy.

Absolutely loving this ref, just lets the game play but at the same time very consistent with his decisions and is commanding respect from the players.

loved him since I saw him in the 2023 JWC.

Great hands by Stockdale and lovely finish by Ward

Hard to legislate against, as you'd need refs to interpret when it is and isn't necessary to jump for the ball. There's probably enough subjectivity in the rules as it is.

Second time I’ve seen this referee this season and have been impressed both times.

Not sure how long he has been around but I’ve not seen him before this season and it’s good to see talent is there when given a chance (and when spots are available because the likes of Busby aren’t stinking the place out each week).

I saw tonights Leinster game was going to be on TG4 again so I bit the bullet and bought a URC.tv season pass for 30 euros. Watching the Connaught game now, and instead of back to the studio for what my dad used to call "the prattle", during half time they show replays of the tries, and then footage from the stadium.

It's a lot more pleasant viewing then back to the studio, some chat, an ad break, more chat, another ad break etc.

Another example of the ref giving very clear, firm but calm communication to Carty there.

Was there a sly elbow to the face on the ground there?

    Bundi Aki in hot water.

Incredibly stupid from Bundee. Could easily be a red here, getting himself worked up over absolutely nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,220 ✭✭✭bingobango12

Bundee is a clown for that. So stupid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,723 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

He's absolutely blessed there. Moronic stuff, he should stay off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,075 ✭✭✭accensi0n

That's ridiculous, McCloskey should not have been carded as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,864 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

    I'm inclined to agree.

But given that he was, I'd have restarted with a scrum rather than a penalty reversal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,406 ✭✭✭✭bilston

That was a ridiculous yellow against McCloskey. I don't even think Aki should have been carded either to be honest, but the yellow for McCloskey was laughable!

Aki along with Lowe need be ousted from the Irish side, just total liabilities at this stage with what they bring to the table not being good enough to make up for it.
