with drones being everywhere, i wonder how does either side hope to advance without taking massive casualties?

My son suggested to me that the Orcs might test NATO by taking Narva in Estonia. Supposedly 80% of the population are Orc speaking drug addicts and it's a 5 min drive to get from the border to the other side of the town. The Estonians could wake up one morning to find it's joined Orcistan and would have the hard task of asking themselves how much do they really want it back, given it's a blight on their country and a headache? NATO would be asking do you want to call article 5 and WW3 for the sake of that lot?

One of consequences of Putrid's open window policy is what do you do? Do you tell him the truth about how bad things are with the thing you are managing, and get shown an open window an hour later, or do you hide the truth in the hope it goes unnoticed, a miracle happens, or you get to briefly wonder if you will reach terminal velocity or will you still be accelerating before you make a red and yellow mess on the fast approaching pavement, in a couple months time?

Sergei Kuzovlev, the general who told Putrid he'd taken Kupyansk and got a medal pinned to his chest for it on Dec 9th, clearly chose the second option and it's likely that is what all the rest do likewise. Zelensky said Kuzovlev had gone missing and that it might be his body that reports say was recently found. Zelensky, the legend who can kill an Orc general with just a selfie.

The pro-orc parties are near inexplicable until you realise they are likely majority funded by the Kremlin. When they arrested the financial backer of the pro-Orc Romanian politician Călin Georgescu, $1.5m in cash was found.

Investigations carried out so far have shown that between March 28, 2024, and January 31, 2025, the defendant offered the sum USD 879,521 in the form of gifts on the TikTok app and amounts of RON 302,547 and USD 17,859 through transfers made via the Revolut app (bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets), to 265 individuals, in order to persuade them to vote for a specific candidate in the 2024 presidential elections,” investigators claim, cited by News.ro.

His handler was likely an ex French Foreign Legion mercenary, Horațiu Potra, who was found with rocket launchers and other weapons, as well as the cash.

Rinse and repeat for every country in Europe. All of this is probably organised and run from Orc embassies like our very own Orwell rd, which has been said to be one of the Orcs largest and most important espionage centres in Western Europe. Poland just closed their last Orc embassy. We should shut the one here, even at the cost of all the HSE stolen data being dumped all over the internet.

The AfD in Germany were recently posing questions in the Bundestag, asking for details on the routes used to transfer matériel to Ukraine, FFS!

AFD are to the Kremlin, what Konrad Heinlein was to Nazi Germany. Puppets. One of their MPs was accused of using slave labour from political prisoners in Belarus. Its reported that the kremlin writes some of their speeches.

How to reconcile democratic survival, with allowing supporters of hostile dictatorships to run in elections is a difficult dilemma.

However I think the danger is greater in France than in Germany. The AFD are still in the 20s, while the likely RN presidential candidate Bardella is polling 50-53% in the second round against Edouard Philippe. We don't know for sure who the anti RN candidate will be in the second round but all the likely other ones poll worse. On the other hand, I remember when previous candidates who were "sure things" imploded in French elections, like Dominique Strauss Kahn in 2007 I think. Also in 1994, Edouard Balladur was outmaneuvred by Jacques Chirac to be the Centre Right candidate.

Not all Russian speakers in the Baltic states are pro Russian. I saw a documentary on this and there are divisions.

Report on Ukrainian fortifications that go on for 20 miles and can be seen from space.

The with Huli if it falls without a fight is it provides Russia with a great hub to gather troops and equipment to attack further into the South East. Let's see what happens.

    More good news from Kupi.

It's inevitable really. Some sort of shambolic orc army spilling over the Baltics, or even worse attempting to attack NATO's weak western flank through Ireland itself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 780 ✭✭✭Bitcoin

Reading the same thing myself, orcs being absolutely routed in the Pokrovsk vicinity. Exactly what happened when the ruzzians disintegrated around Kupiansk.

Zelensky says antennae used for guiding Russian drone attacks are mounted on residential buildings in Belarus. Lukashenko is using his people as human shields.

Reports of souring relations between Merz and Macron. We now know Macron backed out of the plan to use Russian assets to help Ukraine last week. It wasnt just Belgium and it was also Italy.

May I suggest you reference your statements. If you say “reports” put a link.

Putin is a disaster for Ukraine, Europe and Russia. Hatred for that man is entirely appropriate from Ventry to Vladivostok.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,254 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

Just like Hitler was a disaster for Europe. After visiting many cities in Russia it became clear that without corrupt evil leaders all of Europe would be united. And we should.

Lads did anyone watch this 2 hour documentary? Filmed by a Russian girl showing life in a Russian battalion from 2023. Only 20 mins in but it's good so far.

I watched it all and this is one of the best documentaries ever made on this war. I can guarantee this reality isn't what a lot of them see in the TV.

Well if you are not depressed throwing your money away good luck .You might ask yourself some day why did I do that .

I’ve noticed a few words and word usage in this war. No doubt there are many more:

    Miliblogger - military blogger.

Direction, eg, in the Kupiansk direction instead of near or around Kupiansk. At first Ukrainian posters wrote this. Now it’s common usage.

That’s the thing about possessing a moral compass when looking at this kind of world event. I don’t think Dose needs to ask themselves why they donated to the AFU, because it is obvious. They wish to help the Ukrainians defend themselves against an aggressive invader who wants to destroy them.

Unless of course; your statement is being rhetorical with a guarded hope that the Russians win this war, so that Dose’s donations are «throwing money away» and that they ask themselves «why they did that»…since the Russians won… That is at least how I read it now.

Care to clarify? Do you wish for a Russian victory in this war?

How do you donate to these individual battalions ?

The fact that you couldn’t answer that Yes or No question with a «No» tells us all everything we need to know.

Everyone here with their head screwed on wants to return to peace, but an actual meaningful peace and not one that is masquerading as a ceasefire to give the Russians a breather until their next attack on a sovereign neighbour.

The Russians have shown time and again that they will only stop when their ability to continue is taken from them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,983 ✭✭✭rgossip30

Are you part of a group us and we .Why would I want Russia to win there are no winners. "Everyone wants peace " is not much different for stating the war to end as a finality . You want to put words in my mouth as desperate way to have a dispute. Find someone else .

To come on here to engage in what I suspect to be Signals Propaganda for the Russians, is at this stage an invite to have it countered. Either by design or by influence what is being written is an attempt to minimise or dismiss the Ukrainian effort to defend themselves.

We’ve done this dance before and we’ll likely do it countless times again before we are finished. The Russians have no real interest in peace and the Ukrainians have every right to defend themselves. An attempt to muddy those waters is usually an attempt to aid the Kremlin in their efforts, and we’re long enough in the tooth on here to know what that looks like.

I don't understand how you think helping Ukraine defend itself from attack from a terrorist state is "throwing money away". The deranged leader of the russian federation has clearly stated he wishes to erase the country he is attacking and his terrorists have been caught red handed repeatedly committing acts of genocide on the Ukrainian people. Every cent spent on killing putin's terrorist scum is money well spent in my opinion.

Okay, so tell us: what "peace plan" would you propose to bring this war to an end. Let's have a short list of reasonable steps that could be put in place from January 1st.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,983 ✭✭✭rgossip30

Looks like I am posting to a formulated group in an echo chamber .. I think I leave a peace plan to well paid experts on all sides . I would not attempt such a plan with so many side line experts here . The end game being to boot Russia out of Ukraine including Crimea a totally unrealistic scenario.

Yes, it is definitely in the propaganda and information warfare area + effective use of their "active measures" that Russia has had its greatest successes in Europe and elsewhere. Putin and many of them around him spent their formative years in the KGB, it is what they know and believe in, and so Russia under his leadership devotes massive resources and effort towards it.

I agree the embassy here should be shut now as well. We don't need it, they have plenty in other EU member countries who are much more involved in supporting Ukraine and potentially negotiating with the Russians than we are or ever will be. I think the Russian embassy in Poland is still open, but they have shut down all the consulates now (not much desire for visas to Russia and Poland don't want to be giving out visas to Russians either, for obvious reasons post Feb. 2022). According to article here https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/nov/19/poland-closes-last-russian-consulate-after-act-of-state-terrorism-on-railway

it was a response to a recent greyzone/hybrid attack they did in Poland (destroying rail tracks, probably trying to disrupt movements of weapons supplies to Ukraine?).

Admit I don't know much about Estonia, but would have my doubts about a strategy of fomenting some local insurrection by the ethnic Russians/Russian speakers being too successful. I would say most Russians living there know what side their bread is buttered on, whatever the Russian language propaganda may be saying!

Won't be many willing to pick up a gun and become terrorists etc. and ruin the country they and their families live in (at what they know is a far higher standard and in more comfort and freedom than in "Mother Russia") for a few bob from the GRU or some medal from Putin.

I kind of think if Putin could have made this plan work in the Baltic states, it would have happened by now, so he will need to use his own soldiers/spies in or out of their uniforms (i.e. "little green men") for the dirty work.

He/Russia couldn't make that kind of strategy (relying on locals) work in Ukraine either, post 2014, where it should have been easier in theory.
