    Hello all,

here's the requirement. I wish to replace the outdated and complicated setup that my mother, who lives on her own, has.

What I need is a TV, probably 45~50", with either good quality speakers, or a soundbar, as both her eyesight and hearing is failing. She has a set-top box (horizon) which is all she uses for both TV channels and radio. So, while I know all TVs are smart now, I need one that defaults to the HDMI input (for the STB) when it turns on. Otherwise I will be making multiple trips to change it back :( . Budget is flexible, but under/around €500.

It doesn't have to be the latest and greatest, as I think its just SD on the box, and she doesn't watch DVDs etc.

And delivery in January is fine, including availing of any January sale prices.
