Got my Clear Mobile sim in the post today, due to port from VF this coming Thursday. Logged into my account and got onto Live Chat to try do it earlier. They text me a code, sent it to them in chat and port was then complete in under an hour. Great service.

All seems to be working fine. Changed the APN as per recommendations too (it was still working before this, I think the APN must be the Clear one for roaming purposes?) and can also confirm the Wifi Calling is active too.

    So far, so good.

Switched from the rip off that was vodaphoneys to gomo's 15e per month and never looked back. Have additional SIM for eldest on account and it's still cheaper than the monthly 35 I used to give the phoneys

Family member is on bill pay with Three but wants to change to Clear Mobile.

I think their Three month renews tomorrow, should I set the port date to Jan 8th or can I set it for earlier ?

Clearmobile €9.99 offer is finished, price is back up to €12.99 now

Excuse my ignorance but Why does this need to be done? Is it for roaming only? Or does it allow access to faster speeds?

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,299 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Both APN's will work, however for roaming the only apn which works in the isp.clearmobile.ie. I haven't seen any differences with speed on either APN.

Does the Clear Mobile SIMs work in a Vodafone-locked phone, or must the phone be SIM-free too? I assume they work with their parent network, but I want to make sure.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows how to turn off voicemail on Clear Mobile? Online chat isn't working and can't DM on twitter. Thanks.

My son switched from 48 to Clear....he says his speeds are awful compared to 48. I switched from Gomo and it's going mostly good for me, depends on location. Anyone else switch from 48? What's your opinion? Is there a setting that he should be using? Really thought speeds would be better for him as it's the Vodafone network.

Tesco mobile at 15 euro monthly with unlimited data is…….. confusing.

You start by buying a 20 euro top up, then download the app and request the deal using a clubcard, then pay another 15?

Then 15 monthly on a rolling basis with an in app subscription?

I switched from 48.. port took place this morning.. After the port, I popped the sim in to the phone, I didn't set anything, everything was automatic.. speed test showed 340mb download and 7.5mb upload..

A week with Clear now. Fantastic service so far in terms of speed and coverage, definitely on par with my previous VF plan at three times the price.

Quick trip up North yesterday, got the instructions text regarding the APN settings (which I had already done) and it worked flawlessly throughout the trip.

    Top offer.

Same here. I was afraid to change for years, finally took the jump last week, and from what I can see nothing at all has changed (haven't gone roaming yet mind you) except my bill has over quartered! (from nearly €60, and that was with a staff discount to €9.99 for life / as long as that lasts )

No, you order the SIM and Plan together (not just a SIM) and pay 20 Euro for your first 28 days.

During that first days you sign up for automatic top-up of 15€, first having linked your tesco clubcard and your credit/debit card. Next time (28 days after your initial payment) it takes 15€.

However, it appears they have removed the option to purchase this plan online and you now need to do it in store or call them.

Yeah apparently it might last one more month and then they'll remove it entirely.

What about Tesco's e12.99 a month plan? Can't see it online

Received my x2 €10 gift cards today too.

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,299 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

I also received my ones today, have a problem with one of them though, when i click to get it, it says that I've already claimed it, I definitely haven't, I have 4 emails saying "it's arrived!" where as I have 5 emails saying "It's time to claim you €10 reward" Ill try contacting support later this morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,177 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

I think the "time to claim" ones are the first email and then it sends you the "its arrived" to actually get the gift card.

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,299 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Yeah that's it, but when I clicked on the second time to claim one, its says "It seems like you've already claimed your reward:("

I'm expecting the answer to be no but do any of the networks do a plan where you can pay up front for 12 months?

Was looking to get a cheap option for my parents but they wouldn't have a clue about monthly online top-up.
