Slow speeds with Pure Telecom

I changed from Virgin to Pure Telecom today. I have the 500 mb ftth same as I had with Virgin. Where's I had 300 mb download speed on WiFi with Virgin I only have 60 mb download with Pure. I was expecting to have the same speed with both.

Obviously I will be contacting them but just wondering if anyone has had similar issues.

The Pure Telecom modem is very small and light compared to the much bigger heavier on I had with Virgin. Could this cause slower speeds.

If I was to guess, it sounds like your phone is connecting to 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz.

You should be able to go into the router's settings and separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands by giving them a different WiFi name (SSID) each. Connect your phone to 5GHz then.

Now that thats sorted... 5ghz doenst like going throught concrete walls, so if you live in a 1980's bugulo or a cavan mansion then i would stick with the 2.4ghz
