I don’t know how many they will be interviewing this time. I got 63 on the order of merit.

If called for an interview what do you think your chances are of been offered a job?

will your order of merit change much if you perform well in the interview?

What is the interview like for this position? Any tips ?

I did the interview today. There were 3 people, one person just opened and closed the interview and the other 2 asked the questions. It was mostly questions relating to the list of competencies they gave. You have to give examples where you showed those competencies.

had the interview today, I found the questions fairly tricky. Kept interrupting me and asking follow up questions. Not too hopeful. When will we have an idea of how we got on?

Does anyone know anything about TAO roles in Charleville or Killavullen in Cork, or Newcastle West in Limerick. Will chosing certain locations dictate your type of role... I'd be hoping to avoid meat plants... if possible. Maybe that's not possible

I think you will be given a choice of 2 counties where you wish to work but I’m not sure if you will have any choice on which of the places within those counties you will be offered.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 Trixyyy

how do you think the interview went?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 65 ✭✭springer111

Those competency questions are awful. Im not sure at all to be honest....

I answered best I could but lots of waffling and panic from my end 😂

    Same

They'd ask a question, I'd give the answer and soon as I tried to expand on it they'd cut across me (apologise tbf to them) and ask another

I also got asked where I got my news from and how I was sure I was able to trust my news in this day and age

I said it got it from RTE and the Farmers Journal and just put my faith in them as reputable news sources and a bit of lived experience in the things they report about

Does anybody know how the wages work?

Does it start at 31K for everyone?

or can you start higher - up to the 52K mark- based on experience and performance in the interview?

I've been told different things so am unsure

What percentage of the roles are meat factory based?? Anyone know??

from the job advertisement I think everyone starts at that. Which isn’t great to be honest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 Trixyyy

Yes I found the same, kept cutting accross me which was definitely putting me off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 TheRealBosco

Yea that's what it sounded like, but I really hope not, I'd love to work at the department but that's only 3K above minimum wage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 Trixyyy

I received an email today regarding interview qualifying standard. I am 15 on the order of merit! Do you think I’ll get offered a position?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22 Trixyyy

When should we get notified regarding the county preferences?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 TheRealBosco

Fair play, any idea what the order of merit goes up to?

I’d say you should be certain to get a job. Depending on which county you pick, you could be one of the first for that county. Did your order of merit change much from after the online test to after the interview?
