Albanese responded on Twitter that "the victims of the October 7 massacre were killed not because of their Judaism, but in response to Israeli oppression"

Why did you post a photo of the twin towers earlier in the thread?

Some great news that is being widely reported across the media. Seems due to a lot of objections from Arab states the war criminal will no longer be taking his position as the Viceroy of Gaza

I posted a while back that just when you thought Israel could go no lower, they pull it out the bag once again. And as usual, it's Ben-Gvir leading the charge to the 9th circle of Hell.

    Haaretz:

Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir arrived at the Knesset's National Security Committee hearing on his party's proposed death penalty bill for terrorists wearing a gold noose-shaped pin, also worn by other members of his Otzma Yehudit party.

Ben-Gvir said that the noose represents "one of the options" for the death penalty, adding that other potential methods could include the gallows, the electric chair, or lethal injection.

The proposed law would only be applied to Palestinians from the West Bank.

The pressure from all sides to move to stage two of the ceasefire is mounting. It could result in Turkish troops entering Gaza - Israel will be apoplectic.

    Haaretz opinion piece:

"Since Israel is placing a heavy foot in Turkey's door into Gaza, and Egypt is less than thrilled about the possibility of troops being deployed into Gaza by Turkey – which, according to reports in Middle East Eye, is already preparing a brigade-sized force (about 2,000 soldiers) – the understanding in Washington is that a foreign vanguard force must be deployed.

The establishment of such a force can draw in countries that are currently hesitant to send soldiers to the area without a clear definition of their role.

A political figure in Turkey's ruling party says that if Turkish forces can enter Gaza, Azerbaijan and Indonesia, countries with which Turkey has close ties, will also likely join.

"Azerbaijan is also an ally of Israel, while Indonesia may join the Abraham Accords as part of this move," he said."

Did Herzog really say the quiet part out loud? I thought circa 20% of Israelis were non Jewish. But that also of course highlights precisely how non-democratic Israel is - no apartheid state would be considered at such.

    Haaretz:

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said that the election of Zohran Mamdani as New York mayor is a "red flag" while receiving an honorary doctorate from Yeshiva University Sunday night.

"Here, we see the rise of the new mayor-elect, who makes no effort to conceal his contempt for the Jewish, democratic state of Israel," he said.

This is a long read but outlines the key issues and controversies. Published by the Knesset:

"The guilty parties, according to the narrative of Netanyahu and his partners, are those who took to the streets to defend democracy while the government that is headed by a criminal defendant launched a regime coup aimed at weakening the justice system and incapacitating the gatekeepers.

As they see it, the culprit has been found: Giltman.

If everyone who protested against the coup were prohibited from serving, the IDF would struggle to fulfill its missions.

Giltman and his brothers in arms and in protest personify what the government seeks to hide: The guilty parties are not those who rallied to defend democracy from its destroyers and then ran to the front when the country was attacked,
but rather those who steered the country straight into catastrophe."

    Haaretz Editorial

(Giltman was refused a promotion in the IDF after attending a protest)

Seems Israeli police are reading from the same hymn sheet as the IDF.

    Haaretz
A girl and a man who were shot without cause by police in separate East Jerusalem incidents
have been recognized as victims of hostile acts and will receive National Insurance allowances.

The cases involved a 13-year-old girl shot while playing on her rooftop in Isawiyah and a man in his 50s struck in the head by a rubber bullet in 2022; the police long denied its officers were responsible in both incidents.

What can be expected from Hamas supporters other than justification of terrorism?

    "Armed mysterious figures"

And when the rocket hits the world will decry the killing of "innocent" "journalists".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 686 ✭✭✭Lawlesz

It really is incredible how comfortably someone can justify the deaths of innocent journalists and children here, without so much as a raised eyebrow. That it comes as a first post after somehow having a ban lifted…

I will say no more as I'd most likely be the one getting banned.

How else can I say that people hiding armed terrorists are not innocent? They are the ones killing their children, they do it on purpose because they hate the jews more than they love their own children. I know this is something hard to understand and accept for people like us, but you must understand that they are not like us.

    Can you elucidate?

Where/when was video taken; are you suggesting the "armed mysterious figures" are terrorists, Hamas, local militia, local criminals or something else? Which "journalists are you referring to - the person behind the camera?

I think you're reading a lot into a random internet video. That you equate it somehow to the justified killing of journalists is bizarre (assuming that's your point by virtue of you putting "innocent" and "journalists" in quotes).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,445 ✭✭✭Cordell

    are terrorists, Hamas

Are you saying that Hamas and terrorists are not the same thing?

I think you're reading a lot into a random internet video.

Everyone here does, everyone here reads a lot from random videos, especially when they appear to show victimizing civilian Palestinians. Which in lots of cases turned out to be not so innocent and not so civilian. And even, like Mr. FAFO, not really a victim.

How do you know who they are or when this was taken ? It could well have been those IDF members dressed as Palestinians who murdered the patients in the hospital. It could have been taken anytime and anywhere.

    who murdered the patients

    Executed the terrorists.

Well, at least it looks like the world starts to get the fatigue, that's some good news.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

I'm sure you'll be able to provide us with unbiased proof that all the patients who were murdered were terrorists?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 8,943 ✭✭✭Odhinn

You still haven't explained about that twin tower pic….

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 5,636 ✭✭✭dmcdona

Until/unless you answer the questions, you're just posting a very questionable random internet video that could have been taken anywhere, anytime and you're only using it support your narrative. Which it can't do unless you provide more information in its credibility.

Occam's razor: I'm confident enough to believe that Mossad/IDF wouldn't have bothered otherwise.

I'm also convinced that even when they do … ahem… surgical strikes like that, or that brilliant explosive pagers operation, they will still be blamed of war crimes. Which is a very dangerous thing to do, considering their capacity of actually doing them, which makes their restrain even more commendable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

So once again you can't actually provide any proof to back up your claims so come back with a "look over there" statement.

You do not debate in good faith if you cannot answer questions or provide evidence for your claims.

It could have been a film studio for all we know.

I don't think anyone here has an issue with any report, video, image etc that is corroborated/verified and shown to have at least a smidgin of credibility. It could then be properly debated.

But to post something without any context at all and zero verification is just daft. That it is used to justify the usual pro-Israeli position smacks of pure desperation and clutching at straws.

The poster has been given the opportunity to verify the video but I suspect it won't be forthcoming. I will wait a short while longer however for corroboration.
