^ Yep. She's very good, and reminds me of her father.

Also the lad that plays Whitaker is Welsh, and has had a good year - as well as The Pitt, he's been a regular in Ludwig with David Mitchell and also Out There with Martin Clunes.

Really enjoying this - probably the best medical drama I've seen in a long time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,625 ✭✭✭✭yabadabado

Been binge watching this over the past few days , not really in to medical dramas but loving this show.

Actually delayed watching it for a few months as didnt think it would be for me.

One of the best shows I've seen in the last year or so.

Just finished it, yeah would agree, a very good show with a lot of very good performances.

Certainly was a busy shift! If you had that every couple of days, you wouldn't be long getting burnt out

Good night at the Emmys, picking up 3 big wins.

    Best Drama Series

Best Lead Actor in a Drama (Wyle)

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama (LaNasa)

Where are ye all watching this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,547 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

Watched the first five episodes it is really terrific.

Mad that it still isn't technically available here!

I am guessing the HBO Max channel launch for the UK/ireland is planning to have it early next year.

I haven't watched this - I watched a German one recently, Krank Berlin, about a failing Berlin hospital with a drug addicted, but nevertheless very competent doctor and got sick of it so I was afraid I was all hospitaled out. But glancing through the comments here, maybe this is different? I don't want to read them all in case of spoilers.

(I also watched Charité, also in Berlin, and that was brilliant, but not at all the usual modern hospital fare - it told the story of medical progress and also the war and the Wall etc all through the story of the actual hospital which is situated just on the limit bew=tween east and west Berlin. Not sure where you can see that now though. Has anyone seen that?)

Krank Berlin is nothing like The Pit. Give the first episode a go. You'll be hooked.

I'd heard about Charité and never got to watch it. We actually stayed in a hotel a couple of minutes away from it in Berlin and the actual hospital wasn't used in the series because it was too modern looking. They opted for a building in Prague instead.

I’ve read they use Prague to stand in for Paris too - I think it was in a film or maybe series of George Simenon’s Maigret.

    Yes, generous 15-episode season too.

Season 2 begins. I'll wait until it ends then binge.

Inside the real Pittsburgh hospital behind HBO's 'The Pitt'

1st qas 15 too as each episode covers 1hr of the daily shift the workers do.

Think 1st series started at 7am.

I found this show recently thanks to recommendations here. Wife and i have really enjoyed it. Best new series we've watched together in a while. Nothing groundbreaking new in this but great script and very well acted, highly entertainment except a couple of gruesome scenes where we both said "didn't need to see that", lol.

Looking forward to season 2 but will also wait to binge it. Thanks for the heads up on this.

Season 1 is still only available on the high seas unfortunately

Good start to season 2. New attending is already annoying me, as I imagine she's designed to.

Presume the angle will be that she's been handpicked by management to do it their way but over the course of a shift with Robby will learn how things "should" be done.

    I was thinking similar.

    Great to have it back.

Nearly at the end of Season 1. After the first episode and all the medical rigmarole, we were unsure but decided to stick with it. And boy was it worth it. Best medical drama we have watched in years.

Unsure whether to watch Season 2 or wait and binge. We'll see.

I'm watching S2 week by week, just finished Ep 3, having watched S1 in a little over two days.

Would definitely recommend saving it and binging it. Given the real-time, back to back nature of the episodes, it's not the same. Loses the benefit of the continuity.

I watched the first 2 episodes and thinking ill wait now to binge it.

Loved ER but couldn’t get into Grey’s Anatomy. How do I get this show?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,509 ✭✭✭✭expectationlost

Thought episode 3 was cringe worthy in a few places, wondered who the credited writer was… it was Noah Wyle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,016 ✭✭✭✭volchitsa

Yeah I watched episode 3 last night, so it was a while since I'd seen episode 2, and I struggled to remember a couple of the characters' medical issues that had brought them there a couple of hours (weeks) previously. I did work it out and did enjoy it, but I binge-watched season 1 and it did help with continuity.

I found some of the first season a lot more cringey than that, unless I'm forgetting something. It was emotional alright, but not (I thought) in a cringey way. What plotlines are you referring to? (I don't know if spoilers are needed but don't hesitate to do that if you're worried about spoiling)

Is everyone just watching this on dodgy box? I can't seem to get it anywhere - even Amazon Prime - and I don't see how I can upgrade to a AP Max account?? Can anyone help??
