Bayonnais gone top of Top14. Starting to look like a tough tie for Leinster in European Cup pool stage

Toulouse manhandling Bordeaux in the first half. They look absolutely electric.

some young players getting a serious welcome to Toulouse

La Rochelle lost by 2 points to Castres at the weekend.

I don't know if anyone saw it but Antoine Hastoy had a goal line dropout blocked down for La R to concede a try.

A red card in 34 seconds in the Pau v LaRochelle match. OGaras on the pitch at the moment. Oh dear.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,376 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Hastoy having a nightmare week. Charged down goal line exit to concede a try and now a red card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,548 ✭✭✭clsmooth

What was he doing on the pitch? From the video posted by Clegg it’s a clear red. Dangerously leading with his foot in the air.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,593 ✭✭✭OldRio

The referee heard him say something after the sending off. The ref went across and told OGara he was a very naughty boy or something similar.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,593 ✭✭✭OldRio

After 56 mins. OGara red carded. Pau 32 v LAR 26.

I assume o'gara could he in trouble with the french authorities due ti his past indescretions. He clearly didnt agree to the sending off, to me hastoy intentionally raised his boot and it was a clear red

Whether the referee was correct or even if OGara agreed or not, he can’t seem to control himself on the sideline. How many indiscretions will this be? Book should be thrown at him.

Making himself pretty unattractive to future employers aswell I’d imagine.

This will be his 6th ban (assuming he gets one) in French rugby. One suspects it will be a decently long one.

Absolutely no proper international team will touch him with this track record.

They're not having a great season. They're 10th in the league but there's only 5 points between 11th and 4th so it's super competitive for the play off spots.

Even while they're 10th there's no chance of relegation as Perpignan are having a terrible season, they've only got 1 point from their 11 games, and Montauban aren't doing much better as they've 7!!

    Got off very lightly.

Should be forced to forfeit the 2024 European Cup Final as a punishment.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 33,942 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

That punishment will knock them back from 1st in the T14 to…..1st.

It is a very light punishment all in all.

PROD D2 on Youtube tonight. Beiziers v Vannes

Not many places left that you get to watch rugby for free.

Wonder how the Eddie Jordan backed take-over of Beiziers has been going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,456 ✭✭✭FtD v2

it can’t have been helped by Eddie dying 9 months ago.

Tommaso Menoncello signed for Toulouse from next season; the rich get richer.

He could be astoundingly good in that team.

Shame for Benetton, wish they could keep more of the core Italian players together

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,214 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Montebaun must be on course for record amount of points conceded

Bordeaux Begles well beaten at Clermont who seem to be making their ground more of a fortress again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,288 ✭✭✭ironingbored

Make or break game tonight for ROG as Stade Rochelais (10) visit Toulouse (2).

    ST are so stacked.

Lebel, Mauvaka, JC Mallia & Meafou not even in the 23.

    0-7 after 5 mins.

Beautiful try off a lineout. Strike play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,288 ✭✭✭ironingbored

    35'

Dupont snipe, hands off a prop and under the sticks.

    29-7

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,288 ✭✭✭ironingbored

    Dupont in again.

    36-7.

    Cricket score on the cards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,376 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    29-7 to Toulouse now.

This is the Dupont show. Somehow retrieved a kick facing his own posts in the 22, rode a tackle that should have pinned Toulouse in a bad area and kicked it to halfway for a lineout. Three minutes later he hands off a La Rochelle player in their 22 for a try.

And now he's just scored another try. Toulouse spill a ball from an attacking lineout in the 22, it goes backwards and he's the first to react.

    36-7 after 39 minutes

Sumptuous out the back pass for the first try too and a superb delayed pass to Capuozzo for his try.

    All round performance.
