Jack Boyle has started off like he has a point to prove. Huge tackle to stall a Dragons attack then wins a scrum penalty.

So has Soroka. Forced the knock in in defence that led to our scrum penalty, then carried hard with three lads handing out of him to score a try.

JJ Kenny with excellent rush defence to force a knock on. Second time this game a Leinster related has done it.

And leads to another Leinster scrum penalty.

Lovely hit by Kenny to stop that attack.

Little bit of a sloppy performance overall so far. Scrum looks very good though, so at least the handling errors aren't killing us.

Three scrum penalties out of three for Leinster now.

Leinster's passing has been annoyingly inaccurate. Sloppy offload attempts and balls hitting the deck.

Lots of good stuff from Leinster's forwards. Winning scrum penalties and getting gainline dominance in the carries. The backline, in comparison, has been poor. Little in the way of organisation from 10 and so many of our lads have dropped easy passes.

Big lineout steal by Soroka on Leinster's 5m line.

Then he steals the very next lineout on Leinster's 22. Having a stormer.

With Baird out, huge opportunity for him. Leinster need someone who can be a threat in the lineout

Leinster have been brutal since the 10th minute. Wasted multiple great try scoring chances now we're about to get a man binned after multiple conceded penalties on our own line.

Leinster playing this so dumb. Terrible since their try. Now down a man for 10 mins for easily avoidable penalties and should be going behind on the scoreboard shortly.

Edit and they go and give another penalty away.

Discipline is dreadful. Giving Dragons easy yards by giving away so many penalties.

I just want this half over, this is terrible.

And just like Ireland the discipline is a joke and another yellow card. Lads playing themselves out of next weeks match here.

Leinster not to be outdone by their compatriots in green

This is a continuation of endless penalties from the ireland game

Gunne and Harry Byrne have been awful. Wed finally gained control of the ball again after a long time under defensive pressure. Instead of kicking for territory they stupidly decide to run it, we lose possession with a blocked down grubber and subsequently get anithwr yellow.

I'd sub both off at half time.

Gunne's box kicking has been pretty poor.

Leinster keep flinging the ball wide without any forward play to concentrate the defence. The defence is already set up out wide because they're spread across the pitch.

Need some basic forward play before going wide.

This feels like one of those poxy matches Gunne has to suffer for experience in the long run. Hopefully he has a better second half and he learns from it.

Not a good half as a team performance. But certain units and individuals are going well. The front row of Boyle, G McCarthy and Clarkson have been dominant in the scrum and won 4 penalties from it.

Soroka has scored a try, stolen two lineouts and been ultra physical in defence. He's stepping up for a Leinster at a time where we need blindsided to fill in for the injured Baird.

Back 3 have done well in defense. Kenny has made some nice reads out wide

A good response to a terrible 1st half to score first. Now push on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,220 ✭✭✭bingobango12

Much better in those two passages. Good hands from Frawley and finish from Kenny

Looks like both Ulster and Leinster getting on top of things after shaky starts.

Not watching Ulster but Leinster have been truly poor.

Dragons should have man in bin there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,062 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

not entirely sure how the Dragons managed to hold that up legally

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 4,772 ✭✭✭A-Train

The yellow card for the dragons is firmly locked away here.

dull from Soroka there, was never going to get the ball down through 4 defenders.
