He's a loose cannon/liability. I was at their 'final' gig at the Reading Festival in '97. Shambolic. I last saw them in the Elmwood Hall in Belfast in '19. He was under the influence of drugs/alcohol/both! They didn't seem to have a set list, or if they did, he ignored it. He'd start into songs and the band would have to play catch-up. They played Belfast again this year but I didn't go due to the previous experience. I'll still catch them at FF with the hope that he's on form.

In Dublin this year he repeatedly responded to hecklers in a way where I wasn't sure if he was joking or serious, errring towards the second optikn as he abruptly stormed off the stage after barely an hour

Loved their first album and then they slipped off my radar.

Imagine being at Forest Fest this wet and cold weekend.

Ah, he's played a few gigs here that didn't go well. Infamously the recent Ambassador solo show and the last Lemonheads gig wasn't well received. There's previous too. Great songwriter in my opinon but he's lucky he still draws a crowd to a gig.

Forever Young was also in July and a wash out, it ruined them.

The second Forest Fest was a wash out. It didn't deter most people there from having fun.

I'm guessing going on other years the Saturday headliner hasn't been confirmed yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 760 ✭✭✭Chelon

It was my first one…can remember sitting in the tent for all of Saturday afternoon listening to the torrent hammering the roof…then heading out about 5 and having a complete ball…so many highlights but James & Suede stealing the show over the weekend

Loved the last 3 FF and while the location at the GAA club is fine it's hardly the most atmospheric of arenas compared to some others, so high hopes the farm will be even better.

I am nitpicking but my one ask would be for a few chill out areas, eg bar areas with trestle tables etc as seen at other festivals in the UK

Great line-up for me. Love Echo & the Bunnymen and Charlatans albums especially the earlier stuff and the Deacon Blue's debut "Raintown" is a classic. Lloyd Cole also a great announcement. I hope he'll be on 1 of the smaller stages ... maybe the Billy Bragg slot from last year?

Definitely enough there for me already to commit to a purchase.

Ned's, Charlatans, Lemonheads and Echo and the Bunnymen on Friday.

Deacon Blue, Fratellis and Lloyd Cole on Saturday.

Madness, Feeder, Wonder Stuff and Black Grape on Sunday.

Thanks penfailed. Do you think the headliners for each day are there, assume madness are Deacon Blue possibly but are Charlatans headliners, really like them BTW.

I reckon there's still a headliner to be announced for Saturday. EATB and Madness for the other two days.

Love EATB but didn't think they would be big enough for headline. So good live.

Is that a wish list or any kind of formal announcement as to which band is playing which day? If that's it a day ticket for Friday would suit me perfect - EATB, Charlatans, and NEDS being the main bands for me to see. Love those first two but never seen them live

FF have posted the days bands announced are playing

this gets rid of the suspicion that EATB might not be headliners, they are, and that the Saturday headliner hasn’t been announced yet, which it hasnt

Hoping for someone good, last year they waited to announce the manics for that slot
