    I think it was the Q3 or H1 results which showed MAN based being profitable and returning €10M back to Aer Lingus Ireland.

    My guess is that EI are using this strike action as a handy excuse to close the base, repatriate the A330s to Dublin where they will be MORE profitable. If they could get their hands on other A330s then this action may not be needed. And they have no additional A321LR/XLR in the pipeline (A330NEOs not expected until 2027 at the earliest)

    Not doubting your logic but this seems incredibly short sighted to shut down a profitable venture, that also provides some diversity for your business, for the sake of a year or 2 having spent a number of years building the brand in the UK.

    And if they shifted the aircraft to Dublin would they be able to use them to their full potential with the gate issues and late launch of any new routes they may be considering?
