    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

“although the republicans seem to have more sexual deviants and paedophiles. “

Given who’s in power right now, I guess Americans rate these as desirable qualities in their leader

OK - fair point - yeah, this was always the war that no country wanted to fully participate in

Just like they didnt want to confront Hitler until it was too late. We didn't even want to. I defend our choice on the basis that we are small, but I think we made a serious error after the war by turning down joining NATO. It wasnt done because of a conviction that permanent neutrality was a core value, but because of partition. But longterm it could have left us vulnerable in the event of a third world war. Ireland offered the US a dual defence pact but the US turned it down.

Reports MTG has resigned her seat. Reduces the Republican majority to 218-13 in the House.

Several Republicans have filed to contest their primary in the district (Georgia 14th district): Star Black, Jeff Criswell, Uloma Ekpete Kama, among others. On the Democratic side, Shawn Harris, who ran in 2024, is expected to run again. MTG won this seat with 64% in 2024. The Hill had estimated MTGs chance of re-election at 99%.

Separarely, more evidence of abuse of power in the Comey trial.

According to accounts from the hearing:

The grand jury had previously rejected the initial charges against Comey.

Instead of revising the case and returning to the jury, Trump’s team simply drafted a new indictment in secret.

That “replacement” indictment was never voted on or authorized yet was filed anyway.

Portions of the grand jury transcript are missing, even from the judge’s own copy.

When pressed on these issues, Halligan became defensive and evasive, underscoring how unstable the prosecution’s foundation had become.

Ukraine has been doubly invaded - by Russia and by the USA and together they plot to strip its resources.

Wake up NATO. Daddy is a TRAITOR.

There are rumours of Indian interest in Bagram Airbase, Afghanistan. India so far denied its taken control of the base, but Trump has said he wants it returned to the US, something the Taliban rejects. There have been border clashes between Pakistan and the Taliban. Ironically, Pakistan (or at least the ISI intelligence agency) sponsored the Taliban for decades. In the series "Homeland", there are divisions in the Pakistani elite on support for the Taliban or not.

    https://www.rte.ie/news/2025/1121/1545128-ukraine-draft-plan/

I'm not a lawyer so I'm highlighting the items that could be considered a win for Russia or a loss to NATO or undermine Ukraine's sovereignty by being decided by others, relative to the pre war status where Ukraine received guarantees in return for getting rid of it's nuclear weapons.

Here is the 28-point plan, according to a draft reviewed by AFP:

    1. Ukraine's sovereignty will be confirmed. #1
    2. A comprehensive non-aggression agreement will be concluded between Russia, Ukraine and Europe. All ambiguities of the last 30 years will be considered settled.
    3. It is expected that Russia will not invade neighbouring countries and NATO will not expand further.
    4. A dialogue will be held between Russia and NATO, mediated by the United States, to resolve all security issues and create conditions for de-escalation.
NATO would agree not to station troops in Ukraine under the draft plan
    5. Ukraine will receive reliable security guarantees.
    6. The size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be limited to 600,000 personnel.
    7. Ukraine agrees to enshrine in its constitution that it will not join NATO, and NATO agrees to include in its statutes a provision that Ukraine will not be admitted in the future.
    8. NATO agrees not to station troops in Ukraine. #8
    9. European fighter jets will be stationed in Poland. #9
    10. The US will receive compensation for the security guarantee. If Ukraine invades Russia, it will lose the guarantee. If Russia invades Ukraine, in addition to a decisive coordinated military response, all global sanctions will be reinstated, recognition of the new territory and all other benefits of this deal will be revoked. If Ukraine launches a missile at Moscow or St Petersburg without cause, the security guarantee will be deemed invalid. #10
    11. Ukraine is eligible for EU membership and will receive short-term preferential access to the European market while this issue is being considered.
    12. A powerful global package of measures to rebuild Ukraine, including the creation of a Ukraine Development Fund, rebuilding of Ukraine's gas infrastructure, the rehabilitation of war-affected areas, development of new infrastructure and resumed extraction of minerals and natural resource, all with a special finance package developed by the World Bank.
    13. Russia will be reintegrated into the global economy, with discussions of lifting sanctions, rejoining the G8 group and entering a long-term economic cooperation agreement with the United States.
    14. $100 billion in frozen Russian assets will be invested in US-led efforts to rebuild and invest in Ukraine, with the US receiving 50% of the profits from the venture. #14
    15. A joint American-Russian working group on security issues will be established to promote and ensure compliance with all provisions of this agreement.
    16. Russia will enshrine in law its policy of non-aggression towards Europe and Ukraine. #16
    17. The United States and Russia will agree to extend the validity of treaties on the non-proliferation and control of nuclear weapons, including the START I Treaty. #17
    18. Ukraine agrees to be a non-nuclear state in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
    19. The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant will be launched under the supervision of the the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the electricity produced will be distributed equally between Russia and Ukraine. #18
    20. Both countries undertake to implement educational programmes in schools and society aimed at promoting understanding and tolerance. #20
    21. Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk will be recognised as de facto Russian, including by the United States.Kherson and Zaporizhzhia will be frozen along the line of contact, which will mean de-facto recognition along the line of contact. Russia will relinquish other agreed territories it controls outside the five regions. Ukrainian forces will withdraw from the part of Donetsk Oblast that they currently control, which will then be used to create a buffer zone.
    22. After agreeing on future territorial arrangements, both the Russian Federation and Ukraine undertake not to change these arrangements by force. Any security guarantees will not apply in the event of a breach of this commitment. #22
    23. Russia will not prevent Ukraine from using the Dnieper River for commercial activities, and agreements will be reached on the free transport of grain across the Black Sea.
    24. A humanitarian committee will be established to resolve prisoner exchanges, remains returned, hostages and civilian detainees returned, and a family reunification program will be implemented.
    25. Ukraine will hold elections in 100 days. #25
    26. All parties involved in this conflict will receive full amnesty for their actions during the war and agree not to make any claims or consider any complaints in the future.
    27. This agreement will be legally binding. Its implementation will be monitored and guaranteed by the Peace Council, headed by US President Donald Trump. Sanctions will be imposed for violations.
    28. Once all parties agree to this memorandum, the ceasefire will take effect immediately after both sides retreat to agreed points to begin implementation of the agreement.

    Notes

#1 This only proves that Russia had broken the 1993 Budapest Agreement etc. and rest of the document should be viewed accordingly.

    #8 effectively means no peacekeepers.

#9 technically all the fighter jets in Poland are already in NATO - this sounds like limiting the deployment to other countries.

#10 grifters, seriously this means Russian will tear up the "agreement" upon a whim and blame Ukraine or perhaps if Ukraine tries to use force against "separatists"

#14 the EU alone has twice this amount €200Bn on hold ,

#16 seriously ? That's tantamount to saying that the current position is different.

#18 Taking half the electricity after Ukraine has synchronised with the EU grid will be interesting, probably have to assign individual generators to each grid and then shutting down the Ukraine ones would have no effect on Russian grid.

#17 might be considered as not a win for Russia but is not related to this conflict.

#20 Expect it to be used as a casus belli when Russia feels the Ukrainians aren't teaching enough Russian. I can't see Russia teaching Ukrainian to an equivalent degree.

#22 see #10 re "separatists" also Ukraine already had guarantees which turned out to be worthless. The US can't seriously be ignoring "Fool me once"

#25 very destabilising expect Russia to interfere / claim unfair election , when did Russia last have a fair election ?

#26 why not prosecute both sides starting with the worst breaches.

#27 not an honest broker IMHO.

    #28 agreed by non-Ukrainians

I disagree. Heard it was 2 days.

    Sounds like Social Welfare scrounger.

But she's rich so apparently it's OK. Good thing The Donald drained the swamp.

On the basis that the new Trump deal means Ukraine will not be getting any more military goods from the U.S. It gives Zelenskyy the grounds to walk away from the minerals deal he agreed to with Trump as Trump is reneging on the "good faith" deals he made with with Ukraine. It's just up to Zelenskyy to decide on when he tells the world. He can tell Trump he has to ask the Ukrainian people whether they want to accept Trump's dictated "I want your reply by Thursday" order, drag it out with Trump. It will probably have no effect on Trump whatsoever, but it will put a footnote in Trumps world history book on how he favoured Russia and Putin over Ukraine and Zelenskyy. It can give Europe even greater grounds to point out it is falling out with Trump, and not the U.S.

Got the pension and made money off trading, now time to make money as a lobbyist.

    Absolutely typical and unsurprising.

I'm waiting to see how Trump's news agent handles the fact that Trump and the Communist got on like a house on fire in the Oval Office.

tl;dr Strongman Trump is putting his name to a document where Russia keeps everything in it's possession without making any concessions and gets all current and previous sanctions lifted, monies retuned, and doesn't have to face any more penalties that it did for breaking the previous agreements.

Ukraine gets peace until Russia regroups/rearms and does something like using "separatists" to trigger a Ukrainian response to "justify" tearing up the treaty and going for Round #2. Or uses the election on day 100 as cover/pretext.

This appeasement will only encourage Putin and other aggressors worldwide.

Because all they can do is lie. They have to lie. To themselves and everyone else. They're incapable of truth and fact is an anathema to them.

    Oh I know.

Why do you think they declined to endorse anyone for President last November.

What a turnaround for Trump. MTG has gone from his no. 1 fan to completely off the Trump train.

She is no hero. Not she realised she has been duped she us running away rather that looking to stand up to Trump.

But regardless, massive humiliation for Trump.

I wonder what is next for Majorie Taylor Greene?

Some suggest she's gonna run for the senate or governor of Georgia at some point in the future although she previously ruled out a senate run.

I wouldnt be surpised if she went the podcast route.

    TACO

It's constant probing and chipping away at everything that makes America America. Sometimes it only gets delayed until they figure a new angle.

Can anyone show significant evidence that Trump is not a Russian agent ?

(ie. a significant proportion of the 377 things he's signed off on, bearing in mind that Russia has historically been the main US adversary since the end 1945 and before that it was at best "the enemy of my enemy" with the US sending an expeditionary force there during the civil war )

As of November 20, 2025, President Donald Trump (R) had signed 215 executive orders, 54 memoranda, and 108 proclamations in his second presidential term, which began on January 20, 2025.

    ( Tweets don't count because there's always a tweet. )

IIRC the "good" swastika was the mirror image one. That's what I would have done if I was a card carrying Nazi who was dead against genuine American symbols like KKK. FFS why do these clowns have to import hate when they have their own genocide and Lebensraum. They have "Manifest Destiny" which pre-dates Nazism. How broken are they that they have to import stuff like this.

Any evidence that he's made America Greater for anyone who wasn't already rich or able to become rich through political connections ?

Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey are NATO countries that are closer than Poland to the areas Russia occupy.

Hungry and Slovakia are about the same distance as Poland.

    Moldova is neutral.

Poland is buying tanks. IIRC they now have (or have on order) more tanks than Germany, UK and France combined.

And they are not buying them from the USA.

Probably the only time a retreat by one side in the conflict is forward, not backward, in territorial terms in modern, post-USSR terms.

Sections 3,4,7 and 8 are basically the same in terms of NATO being barred from what is left by Trump and Putin of Ukraine proper. The last sentence in Section 10 is laughable when compared to it's third sentence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,562 ✭✭✭✭Jelle1880

Let's hope Europe remembers what happened in Chechnya.

A peace treaty in 1997, Russian tanks rolling back across the border in 1999 after Russia nullified said treaty.

IIRC the "good" swastika was the mirror image one.

There's no good or bad way for a swastika symbol. The way that the Nazis used it was to symbolise positivity because it appeared to be rotating clockwise. But there's sanskrit swastikas that are situated facing the other way too. Buddhist temples can be found with them on it to this day.

People often try to associate Nazi regalia with an evil message because, well, they're the Nazis. But they didn't use any symbols to show that they were the "baddies" as Mitchell and Webb put it. Even the death's head symbol that the SS used was an old Prussian military symbol and one that was used by numerous countries before Hitler's lot employed it.

The Nazis used symbolism like that because it was striking and very appealing to the eye, which the swastika is. It was an important part of their brand, as it were. Of course these days that appeal has been tarnished because of what the Nazis went on to do and what they represent.

The EU is paring back AI regulations. The main reason seems to be that we're lagging behind China and the USA in AI but pressure from Trump seems to have been a factor. Not thrilled about personal information that otherwise would be protected by GDPR being used to train AI. Seems like a race to the bottom.

The Speaker of the House has plans to restrict the rights members have to file discharge petitions in the house after the passing of the "release the Epstein Files" vote in the house. This hasn't apparently had the desired effect of quitening the troops.

According to a statement from the group known as OCCUPY DEMOCRATS: Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick has filed a a discharge petition which will probably wreck Trump's latest effort to "stop the war" in Ukraine.

The statement read: in a stunning rebuke of Trump’s pressure campaign to force Ukraine into a Russia-friendly “peace deal,” GOP Pennsylvania Rep. Fitzpatrick filed a discharge petition to FORCE a House vote on bipartisan sanctions so punishing they’d make Putin choke on his morning propaganda briefing while blasting what was described as Trump’s “Russian-drafted propaganda”.

And here’s the kicker: Fitzpatrick did it while blasting Trump’s “Russian-drafted propaganda” — yes, a Republican openly accusing the president of parroting Kremlin talking points.

Meanwhile, the White House is still twisting Ukraine’s arm to surrender territory, accept limits on its military, and essentially gift-wrap eastern Ukraine for Putin. But Fitzpatrick’s bill would do the exact opposite, mandating 500% tariffs on any country buying Russian oil; crippling new banking sanctions; visa bans; asset freezes; and total economic ruin for anyone propping up Putin’s war machine.

I'd hazard a guess FitzPatrick has a touch of the Irish about him.
