There was a minor update after 3.8 on my iD3 which triggered my SOS error. Garage covering the cost, tho I'm not sure is that under the approved used warranty or because the update caused it.

Got my obd dongle out and it has error B1916F2: Backup battery, flat. Can't clear the error either, I presume I need the dealer software for that. I can do all the grunt work and change the battery but I'll still have to pay for it to be plugged in.

Will you really need a dealer to clear it? Surely if you change the battery and it fires up it will clear itself?

Or simply clear the errors via your dongle once you have the new battery in. Clearing the error codes is usually trivial with the dongles/apps but of course they will come back if you havent fixed the issue….. replace the battery and clear the codes and see where you are at?

I'll give it a go (and document the process). The obd scanner gives 255 as the unlearning index so my understanding of that is it's essentially a permanent fault. Trying to clear it doesn't even temporarily remove the warning light.

Not urgent but I will get it sorted. Module battery definitely seems to be goosed as the car can't communicate with the server after a short while after getting out. So no remote warming this morning!

To follow up on this, car is left in VW today

According to services its a software update onto the car which VW have recommended, it is in for 3 days so pain in ass

Why does a s/w update require 3 days without the car?

VW still hasn't got the software figured out, having to bring the car to the dealer is a joke and for 3 days is just an embarrasment at this stage.

No idea, while its in I am getting full service etc, if its gone for 3 days might as well get everything sorted so it doesn't ahve to go back for a while

2021 id4 here. Own for almost 2 years. Software version 3.2 (and happy with this, if it aint broke, don't fix it etc)

Created a login when purchased and all works fine. Have this free until March 2026. Works fine and can check charge status, turn on climate control remotely etc.

Yesterday the VW iPhone app logged me out for some reason

comes up with below screen, I choose the ‘Log in’ option as I already have an account etc

issue is I cannot for the life of me find the code they are on about (“simply scan the code in the infotainment system”)

went through the infotainment system in the car and cannot find any place with a QR code. Anyone have any ideas?

I think if you go into Users then it's in there somewhere. You might need to delete yourself as a user in the car then login again

The VIN is on the outside, bottom corner of the windscreen on the passenger side if that's needed

My car is out of warranty and the dealer has cleared the sos error, collecting the car today and will ask what they did.

No cost to me for the fix.

Checked in user and weconnect and no luck, actually went through every menu in infotainment but cannot find anywhere with a QR code to scan.

it seems I may have to totally reset and start from scratch, can’t find the QR code anywhere. Rang help desk and they advised the reset, they agree it’s silly the way they could not send me this magic QR code

Any of u guys have an issue with scheduled charging being out an hour... Scheduled my car to charge at 2am but it came on at 3am!!

Zappi set to fast as normal for the last year but for some reason for the last few days it just won't charge. Time in the car is correct and the Zappi (not that matters)..

    Thanks

Only thing I can think of is the localisation settings on your phone?

    Definitely an odd one

I did install a few days ago on the phone app the WeCharge thingy….but looking at the phone also its saying check charging equipment..but funny it started exactley 1 hour after the set time??

Ill do a few more test timed charges this evening instead of waiting until 2am..

Okay, long shot but try going into the vehicle settings in the app and turning off "personalisation"

Apparently that can screw up things like times charging

It's almost like the car has gotten confused about daylight savings or something 🤔

My wife's Gen1 Leaf has a better timed charging system than VW has managed.

It has a start time and an end time and what days you want it to charge on

It starts at the start time

It ends at the end time

It does exactly what it needs to do, no more, no less 😁

I'd be interested in hearing what they did. I haven't had the time this week to sort this out but if VW are sorting these problems for free on out of warranty cars that would be great.

Battery or damaged TPMS Sensor. You can buy them online and have them fitted at a local tyre centre.

Tesla sell them online their website so VW may be the same. I bought some for my 530e for €25 and had local garage fit them for €10 each.

Attempted to do this today. Looked at some YouTube videos on how to remove the rear bench. Seemingly it pulls straight up, with some force. Well I pulled and pulled and pulled but there was no budging. I tried to lever it up as suggested on other id forums and I broke my lever. I gave up. There is either a knack that I'm missing or a VW tool to release the clips. Such a stupid **** design.

So much for a self repair, I'll have to send it in.

On the SOS module I was told one part of the OTA didn’t go through correctly and needed to be redone. Error is gone now, no cost to me.
