Well, look at what happened to a sitting congress member when she spoke out against him? Real world threats.

Now imagine the fear that threats from a president would have on the average person. Look at the abuse E Jean Carroll received.

    It would put anyone off

Reporter: "Your Royal Highness, U.S. intelligence concluded that you orchestrated the brutal murder of a journalist. 9/11 families are furious that you are here in the Oval Office..."

    Trump: "Who are you with?"

    Reporter: "I'm with ABC News."

Trump: "Fake news…He's done a phenomenal job. You're mentioning someone who was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen."

There you go folks. It's perfectly acceptable for a reporter to be butchered, and frankly, it's rude to bring it up!

This is puke inducing rambling rubbish He hasn’t shut up shiting on about how great he is. Despicable treatment of the ABC reporter. A stain on humanity. He gives morons a bad name.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,563 ✭✭✭✭Jelle1880

That's never been a secret, when it happened he literally said it shouldn't threaten the deal they were making with the Saudis to sell them military planes etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,605 ✭✭✭✭everlast75

When are the press going to stand up to him and fire back?

If he asks where the reporter is from, the answer should be "it doesn't matter. Answer the question".

If Trump moves on to someone else, ask the same goddamn question.

If he insults a colleague, challenge him and stand up for your colleague. "sir, that's unacceptable. We are doing our job. Please answer the question".

    It's not f*cking difficult.

I can well believe Trump would do exactly the same thing - a plague on all the houses who support this man

Fox News will have no problem sending “journalists” who will just nod along with the bile that he spews.

He truly is a disgusting despicable despot

mark Epstein says he has heard from a reliable republican source, that they’ve edited the files. The delay was to let them finish.

    No ones surprised.

One more lawsuit from Trump thrown out of court. Source: THE NEW REPUBLIC magazine.

Trump Judges Throw Out His “Meritless” Lawsuit Against CNN

An appeals court upheld a lower court’s decision to dismiss the years-old suit.

A federal appeals court panel affirmed the dismissal Tuesday of President Donald Trump’s $475 million defamation lawsuit against CNN for using the term “the Big Lie,” calling the president’s claims “unpersuasive” and “meritless.”“Trump has not adequately alleged the falsity of CNN’s statements. Therefore, he has failed to state a defamation claim,” wrote Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judges Adalberto Jordan, Kevin Newsom, and Elizabeth L. Branch, in an eight-page filing. “Trump’s other arguments are likewise meritless.

”Trump had nominated both Newsom and Branch, as well as District Judge Raag Singhal, who first dismissed the case in July. The term “the Big Lie” refers to Trump’s debunked claims of sweeping election fraud that supposedly robbed him of a second term in the White House in 2020. Trump alleged when he sued the network in 2022 that CNN’s use of the term was part of a “campaign of dissuasion in the form of libel and slander.”

A second federal court gave this other ruling ordering Texas not to use it's 2026 gerrymander maps today EDIT: for the 2026 mid-term elections. This decision was also made by a three judge panel.

The House just passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, 427-1.

Republican Clay Higgins was the lone 'no' vote.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

No it’s simpler than that- the vote taking place right now is just an illusion that progress is being made on releasing the Epstein files- he already has bases covered.

He has got the attorney general to instigate a number of investigations related to certain democrats- so already he has licence to stop certain files, essentially any files, that are deemed necessary for this investigation, from being released. Between that and redactions for whatever reasons, he still gets to protect who he wants, namely himself-we’re not looking at democracy in action here- it’s far from it in fact

JFC there is no bottom to the depths. What a complete and utter scumbag

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 24,371 ✭✭✭✭Tell me how

I find that hard to believe. There's no room for subjectivity if files have been edited, it's a Yes/No question and doing something like this, at this stage, would require lots of people being involved and the risk of someone leaking would be too great I feel.

I think that's why they're going with strategies where they can be subjective and do things like "redact the names of innocent people". Or claim that due to active investigations by the DOJ they can't be released.

I would not give that poster much heed. He`s having a bad day with the result of the Epstein vote.

His sudden return here is just the usual Trump supporter attempts at distracting how Trump, after all his attempts at preventing the Epstein file being released, that even MAGA didn`t buy his bullshlt and forced Republican House member to vote for release leaving him with two choices. Being humbled losing the vote while still trying to prevent it, or being humbled by telling them to vote to pass when everyone knows it was his own MAGA that were forcing a reported 50 - 100 Republicans to vote to release.

There were plans to covert the new White House Ballroom into a Mausoleum, but the dance floor is too small.

Schumer confirms he'll move to pass the Epstein resolution in the Senate tonight by unanimous consent.

"We have an opportunity to get this bill done today and have it on the president's desk to be signed into law tonight."

Out of the loop a bit here, but isn't this vote meaningless because the FBI have had a large team scrubbing the files?

I presume we're going to get a whole bunch of mentions of everyone non-MAGA, and then a few token mentions of MAGA members (to feign whatever) - and then a massive amount of REDACTED

Or am I on the wrong track?

    You aren't far off.

Chances are, there are names in there, mainly people who Trump doesn't like. And his name will be strangely absent…despite the mountains of evidence that he was buddies with him for years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,788 ✭✭✭amandstu

I think it depends how easy it is to queer the pitch.Have there been enough eyes on the document to call foul (if foul needs to be called)?

    I have no idea.

I understand much editing is necessary and I also am unaware of what kind of leeway the editors have in doing the job.

Maybe the general guidelines should be made public if they are not already.

Edit the "mistakes" made in the recent and apparent James Comey grand jury fiasco raises the level of prima fascia suspicion to a high level.

It would be jail time for anyone caught doing that and anyone that instructed them to do it. You also have to consider that this is one of the most inept administrations that could not organise a piss-up in a brewery that has Kash Patel head of the FBI.

Most likely, Trump will pressurise the Senate not to pass it with the excuse that there is now an on-going investigation he instructed into anyone and everyone it seems other than Republicans, but I would see him on thin ice with that.

MAGA scuppered him on the House vote by pressurising their GOP representatives, so any more attempts at not releasing is not going to get rid of that whiff of a cover-up they are smelling.

That's a bad day at the office, the Texas redistricting getting spiked could prove very important down the line.

And before any of our resident trolls pipe up, the judge hearing that case was appointed by.... Trump

i presume the epstein files have been cleaned.

not sure what anyone expects now.

Wasn't the California referendum result predicated on the Texas redistricting going through?

I understand they (Texas) will appeal to the Corrupt Supreme Court ....

For me, he represents the very worst of the human race. An ignorant, lying, snivelling, corrupt scumbag that's never worked an honest day in his life. How he's managed to fool so many people into thinking he's the second coming of Jesus, I will never know. And honestly, I don't want to know.

I expect any FBI whistle-blower to meet a fate similar to Khashoggi's..

"He had it coming, he had it coming

He only had himself to blame

If you'd have been there, if you'd have seen it

I betcha you would have done the same"
