But connacht club rugby isn't in the pits and galwegians from very start of AIL have been up and down the whole time

And thousands dont go to any game these days bar a small few like nure v marys and very few others

Sligo had 7 players today under 20.

Bateman cup is like kerry playing against sligo in the chapionship playoffs and people shocked there was a big score. Unfortuently i cant never see a connacht winner of the batemangoing forward. Ail Connacht clubs focus is 100% on the AIL

Unfortunately Gabriel, Gunne, and Kenny seem to have been retained by Leinster.

Hopefully all the games can get going today. A lot of standing water where I am in Dublin and still raining quite heavily.

1 game off and I think another 1 or 2 have been moved to nearby 4g pitches.

Great bonus point win for MU Barnhall away in Dungannon in what is always a heavy pitch and would have been moreso with the recent weather. 6 from 6. Ballymena at home next up.

33% of the way through the season, and it is very competitive. Delighted with our win over St Marys at the weekend, looked so physical on the stream

1A is so close, just 5 points between first and fifth. Keep the faith Ormond, it is such a step up for Nenagh but lots of rugby left and even if it does pan out you lads go back down, you'll have lerned so much, lots of sides have come up and down and build from there. We did, Shannon, Garryowen and look at Marys recently.

Great to see Trinity outperforming in 1B, surprised at Blackrock, expected them to lead the charge.

2A and 2B with run away leaders already, told you lads I was sweet on Barnhall, congrats Madds

Sort of doesnt matter in 2C and relegation in 2B with the changes albeit the big challenge is avoiding going to junior as always

We'd have a bit of love for your lot too Chico, well maybe more for Moggy if truth be known! 😁 A legend in these parts for lots of reasons!

UCD having a very good season relative to expectations this year too, and have recorded two huge wins (to avoid relegation) against Nenagh and last weekend away to Young Munster.

The win in Limerick is especially noteworthy given it clashed with the Irish U20 game on Friday night, so UCD were without 4/5 of their tight five and the excellent Charlie Molony.

This side was described before this season as an extremely young team (even by university team standards), so great to see them going relatively well.

UCD have done really well, with only 6 games in, not sure can say to avoid relegation just yet, but the win v Young Munster a massive help. They are going to be missing the U20s lads for majority of the season now

1A is very close at top good to see. Nenagh finding it difficult but that was always to be expected. bit cleverer and play smarter and could pick a few bonus points at least which would be a boost.

On 1B hopefully it isnt a dublin side that comes up especially if Nenagh were to go down. Not good for league to have 7 of 10 sides from the capital.

Barnhall have looked good and been there or there abouts for promotion/playoff spot in 2A since they got promoted from 2B before covid.

Galwegians are looking very good. good for Connacht rugby who need a second side in top 3 divisions. theyve had a few tough years and good to see them pushing back up the divisions.

Dont think you can say it doesnt matter in 2C. If you get it wrong this year could be an easy slide next year back to junior.

When say doesnt matter, mean more so who wins, bar getting a trophy, still need to keep up performance levels and build into next season.

I didn't mean they've avoided relegation yet, moreso to say that the aim of the season is simply to stay up and the two wins will be a big boost towards that.

Glad to see Galwegians starting strongly after a very tough decade or so, going from 1A to 2C in 7 years. Based abroad so don't have any inside track but it seems like they've done a good job in recruiting some experienced forwards, keeping the bones of a squad together for multiple seasons, and sprinkling in some academy talent where available. Saw some clips of Conor O'Shaughnessy, he looks very strong at that level, as you'd expect.

Theyre really going well and its great to see. Really should see them competitive a few divisions higher. theyve brought through a lot of underage players through their youths in recent years and its really showing now. had it tough but those guys now are well seasoned adult players. would be great to see a Connacht club up in division 1 soon.
